This affects us all

1. All of the above is 100% true. You literally stalked me on illiniguys waiting for posts you could zing me on and just like in this thread only chimed in to insult me because I damaged that massive ass ego of yours.

2. I decided to share some personal life experiences of tough times and seeing the other end of the spectrum to give a different perspective and you turned around and mocked me for it. It's really interesting to see someone make fun of somebody for being on EBT turn around and play the moral high ground card.

Never once did I blame someone else for my lack of success in life. I should have picked a better undergraduate degree or went further into higher education. But I'll certainly recognize some degrees are worthless without proper guidance.

3. Your discontent for me existed long before this profile picture. And while you somehow aren't a piece of shit for making fun of my life's troubles I'm a piece of shit for this picture.

It's just something something for you to try to cling to to continue this incredibly unhealthy grudge you have against me. You'll always find something to blame it on or justify your vitriol. At the end of the day, and this will always be true, you look for things to come at me about because our covid arguments.

Not sure why you can't just admit that because we both know it's the truth.

Try owning your own feelings and behavior for once instead of always justifying it because you've been nothing short of a sack of shit towards me on this board for about 18 months now
I was on IG long before you arrived. There’s no stalking. I made fun of your bad takes just as I’ve made fun of anyone else. The difference is you take it personally due to our previous interactions. The fact that you continue to claim this is all one sided is a joke and a testiment to your lack of character. You’ve even gone as far as attempting to make digs at my father on to try to bait me into a reaction. There’s receipts in my post history.

You’re correct. The root of my so called “vitriol” is based on your comments about me regarding covid. It’s not because I disagreed with you, it’s because you blatantly misrepresent what I’ve said to try to get a dig in. I take my career very seriously. I’m not going to let an unemployed internet troll twist what I’ve said and insult my intelligence.

I’ve never claimed the high ground. You sling shit on these boards more than anyone. Don’t act so surprised when some comes back at you.

3 billion to another country... with its previous ties to the biden family..

so ya.. if I get 10k forgiven on my student loans my moral compass isn't going to break.

just being honest.
They can both be wrong?

Double vaccinated, double boosted, and double COVID Joe Biden and his hideous wife Jill who is also double vaccinated, double boosted, and double COVID won't allow the world's greatest tennis player and one of the fittest people on the planet into the USA to play the US Open because he has deemed the death jab to be unnecessary.

The USA under Biden is a joke just like Canada under Trudeau is a joke. That is why clowns like @nthomp and @stoneaxe27 vote for dictators like this.

Just ridiculous. I’d understand if the vaccine stopped you from getting and spreading COVID. Even COVID enthusiasts should recognize how stupid this is.

The science is clear to everyone but the CDC. But, this isn't about science, it is authoritarianism at its worst. Trudeau and Canada have a tracking app for people trying to go to Canada. Novak can't go to Canada, I can't go to Canada, but Jill Biden and little Joey can go to Canada and spread COVID all day long because both of them are "(un)protected".

It is infuriating and my take is every other tennis player should refuse to play this joke of a tournament where an unvaccinated USA player can participate but not Novak. Same holds true with the Australian Open, baseball games in Canada, or basketball in NYC.

I’ve never claimed the high ground. 4. You sling shit on these boards more than anyone. Don’t act so surprised when some comes back at you.
1. You know what I'm talking about when you'd post this random innocuous take "aww man should have went after ulis" in a thread that wasn't remotely about Ulis. You did multiple times bringing up old takes absolutely irrelevant to the topic at hand confusing half the people partaking in them. Why?

2. I'm not saying it's impossible I believe Sparky is your father I have zero issue with him but regrettable things were said on both sides at times. We all said shit I wish we hadn't back then. Everyone.

3. Our "friendship" on here ended when I said, at one point, you said you were in no hurry to take the vaccine because of the newness of it. This was while you were mocking dhaab who, for all I know, thought it was nanobots or some crap.

4. I still get excessively riled up, at times, but plenty of people (probably a half dozen) are against student loan debt relief and it's mostly remained civil. I can handle people passionately getting carried away at times as I quite obviously do but sans illinihockey and nthomp (him posting pictures of Oscar T's car accident mocking the situation) I try to read messages without worrying about the messenger.

And since my personal life keeps getting brought up my wife and I opened a small business 9 months ago. I have adhd and I'm front of a computer just about 24/7 and type over 100 words per minute and constantly multi-task.. We're not where we want to be yet but we are certainly moving in the right direction.

@JeffT818 I probably owe you an apology out of all of this. They aren't related and you can believe in one without believing in the other but between bank bail outs, funding wars in other countries, etc. etc. it was difficult for me to read somebody is for sending billions to Ukraine but not helping out some in need in our own country. Whether you'd like to see income thresholds adjusted etc. etc. and more take issue with the language in this or don't believe in any bailing out at all that's your personal belief.

I understand most on here are fiscal conservatives and are not going to be in favor of any semblance of bailing out, welfare, dabbling in socialism if you will etc. etc. It is what it is. I'm not out door knocking trying to get votes but I'm not going to be sad if 10/20k of my debt is wiped out. Certainly not going to turn it down.

Brandon does not have the constitutional authority to spend money, as per Nancy (May 2021) to this decision.

There should be NO interest charged on the outstanding debt, no prepayment penalty (is there any) and other ideas, like IRS deductions/credits on a sliding income scale.

This one is for @JeffT818 ! The world lithium supply is insufficient to keep up with the Global Warming scam being forced on Americans and others in the world. Good luck tearing up the Earth to produce enough lithium for these rapidly failing batteries in eCars.

This excerpt describes Jeff perfectly.

Labor has a bill before Parliament to deepen the deficit by spending (who knows how many billions) on tax concessions for those who purchase new ecars. There’s a reason Australia has less than 2 per cent ecars – they are a terrible fit for the enormous distances that we travel. Of those 2 per cent, most are likely doing loops around Canberra while the rest are the third or fourth luxury vehicle of a virtue-signalling professional in a Teal seat. Not the actual Teal leaders, though. They drive hybrids – which is green virtue with a backup oil rig.

Leading poor people to the slaughter throughout the country through vaccine hesitancy and politicizing our health experts and agencies just trying to help people. That hurts poor people throughout the land and keeps drawing out this problem. All for politics. All to help their odds in the midterms in 2022. Again, f*ck them.

Yet another horrible take by old Nick @nthomp . The pro-science vaccine questioning people were looking out for the poor and we arguably saved many lives. And it is a good thing we did since Biden will now get the poor to pay for the rich people's worthless degrees.

By the way, Nicky must have gotten his / her phone back from Mom. He/She logged in to the site a couple of days ago after a 2 month absence.!

EVs are great as a local car. I would imagine that they don't make much sense in Australia. There seems to be quite a bit of momentum EU/California to stop the productions of ICE cars by 2035. Hopefully, the technology will improve substantially over the next decade. It looks like ICE cars are on the way out.

EVs have a lot of pluses vs ICEs. Essentially, no maintenance and very reliable. Immediate engine response as well.

Not a problem. I don't take anything on a message board personally. Were you diagnosed with ADHD recently? My wife (early 50s) was having terrible sleep issues and found out she had ADHD just this past year. It has been a struggle to get the medication just right.

Diagnosed as a child and really epitomized the bouncing off the walls hyperactivity but as I've gotten older the mind still acts like a slot machine although I don't quite have the energy I once did.

I should medicate but I don't. My wife's sister was diagnosed as manic depressive and nothing helped for years.. After observing her closely for a few months when she moved back from Florida I told her to go do an ADHD screening.

Strangely enough they prescribed her Wellbutrin instead of something like vyvanse or adderall I guess off-label but she says she's felt the best she's felt her entire life on it. The doctor did agree he believed she had undiagnosed add (or adhd I'm not sure which).

I firmly believe there are quite a few adults out there running around with it undiagnosed.. Symptoms in adults are so much more complex than just being hyper... Sleeping has always been a struggle without a sleep aid..

It's really all about the lithium or lack of it. These eCars are also a waste of lithium which is far more useful for other things. In a similar way, Google wasted vast amounts of Helium for Google Loon. Helium is necessary for advanced medical scans and also for several manufacturing applications. The cost of Lithium has gone up 1300 percent since 2020 - 2 years!!

eCars also require an e-Grid which means nuclear, coal, or natural gas plans. This global warming scam is designed to kill American capitalism.

Car manufacturers admit that there is only enough lithium for 14 million ecars while the World Economic Forum says the world needs 5 billion to get to Net Zero.

The lithium shortage is about to make phones, computers, TVs, fridges, and all household electrical goods extremely expensive. If you think the cost of living is bad now, wait until the lithium dries up. Lithium used to cost $6,000 per tonne in 2020, in 2022 that figure sits at $78,032 per tonne. And what then? Solar panels, wind turbines, and battery farms have a best-case lifespan of 20 years. Everything that lithium was wasted on is headed for landfill leaving the power grid to be ripped up and replaced by – well – probably nuclear but it will cost more because of the lack of lithium.

I believe it is likely that EV batteries will be developed that will use another material instead of lithium. Work is ongoing to accomplish this.

And CA is rushing to get rid of vehicles that use gas. If you are conservative at all, why in the world would you live in that state?

And you would be very wrong that they will develop comparable EV batteries that don't use lithium.

I work in a field where battery technology is extremely important and exotic. I can tell you this is a dream that will not come true.

* 18 years ago at General Dynamics I had an extremely funny manager tell his team of 100+ - "If someone has an idea for a better battery, let me know because we will all be able to retire". Lighter, longer-lasting, and rechargeable battery technology is extremely difficult work and elusive.

The best batteries (for EVs) as you understand use LITHIUM! It took many decades of research to come to this conclusion. Finding a poor-man's substitute will compromise the strengths that make lithium the best option. They will create an alternative, but it will suffer in areas such as weight, quantity of recharges, performance in different climates, cost, etc.

Global Warming is a total scam and the people you support are willing to destroy the ocean bottoms and the earth to achieve their goals of destroying American capitalism.

For 2 days, the Marines saw the suicide bomber in the crowd thanks to the CIA. Brandon and his team wouldn't let the Marines kill the suicide bomber who eventually killed 13 of them and countless Afghans. What a total disaster. But, as @stoneaxe27 told us, it was going to be bloody no matter what. Those Marines had to die.

The focus on oil has always felt misguided to me. We have a much bigger problem with an overuse of water, and people are just now starting to talk about it. Of course liberals in states like California have ignored it because they wanted to make resorts and golf courses in the desert.

California was not made to home 40 million people. I don’t want to hear about environmental abuse from the hypocrites that have done more damage than anyone else.

Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait all have zero water issues.

It's too bad California doesn't have a large body of water nearby like those countries.

Saudi is in similar trouble. Water is going to be a major issue in the future. The planet was likely not meant to have 8 billion people sucking it dry.

Arizona had less than 2 million people in 1970. Now? Over 7 million. The desert isn’t built to hold that many people.
Arizona has excellent water rights. Further, believe it or not, when people replace farms less water is used.

My understanding is chip production is water intensive. Taiwan Semiconductor and Intel are investing $50B into Arizona plants. While not as much as Ukraine is getting, it is a large investment and a bet on water being available.

Further, the desert around Yuma is feeding a lot of people including you!

Yes, to develop in Arizona you must have sufficient water rights. The agricultural and dairy businesses are being replaced by people.

My town gave me $200 years ago to have a yard with desert scape (defined as something like 60 or 70 percent of the land not needing irrigation - that is, very little grass). I took it for a host of reasons. It is a smart program.

Maintenance is more than an oil change….
Upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, break pads, calipers and rotors, u-joints, transmission. Other than that, sure.
Very reliable? Hopefully no battery fires….

Great program, and much needed. I think Colorado will have similar programs soon. We are limited to watering 2 days a week. I’m open to the idea of removing our grass. My in laws put turf in their backyard.

But they’ll raid Mar-a-Lago….

I should have qualified no engine maintenance. Obviously, you have to replace wiper blades tires, brakes etc. Although the brakes last much longer with regenerative braking.

No oil changes, air filters, radiators. Electric motors have about 20 parts vs over 2,000 parts for an ICE.
Electric motors require very little maintenance.

This program predates my arrival I am sure and I took the cash in 2005. Some older companies bragged about switching to desert scape but in reality they were saving a lot of money.
