This affects us all

That is surprising praise for Obama by you!
Really liked him for much of his tenure. Was worried initially due to his close relationship with Spahn and Katzenburg, but sort of figured he would be ok.I don’t care for Hollywood limousine liberals and didn’t when I was a Democrat. Then we had Obamacare, his increasing troops(opposite of what I figured he would do) his increasing “all things Hollywood”,which led to an SEC investigation ,a decade ago(it was Dreamworks trying to negotiate some deal with China, helped by Biden(who has always been an idiot),his catering to Hollywood(George Clooney and friends) and his whistleblowing record, sending Holder to Ferguson, stupid gun stance and the final straw of pardoning gun offenders, despite being anti gun for normal citizens and overall he was basically a black GW to me..which is way better than this yardbird.

I'm curious did we have these kind of threads on here before covid and were they always so savage?

I came to this website to talk sports and honestly got annoyed when o.t. threads popped up but rarely ventured here because... I had no reason to.

The whole "were they always so savage" thing is the part I'm most curious about. I can kind of see why some message boards wouldn't even want an o.t. forum because it really has caused a lot of deep rooted grudges that come out at different times over non-basketball related manners.

But not abruptly and not before getting American citizens and allies out. And not leaving behind massive amounts of military weaponry that will eventually be used against us.
Fool gonna fool….
What's so stupid about that circular argument the notion plans never change when coordinating things.

It's such an incredibly dishonest rebuttal meant only to deflect away from Biden's miserably failed plan, and it was HIS plan as he is president, and incredibly polarized people on the left just refuse to accept that.

This isn't some sort of recession that was years coming or a housing collapse this was a catastrophic event that he had plenty of time to change course before he did what he did.

The leftists here should show a bit of honesty and admit that instead of more "but trump this and trump that".

No, was hardly ever any threads on this board at all. Maybe a few about tennis when Indianola was still posting here, that usually would max out at 20 posts or so

'Disturbing and reckless': Retired brass spread election lie in attack on Biden, Democrats

The open letter from 124 retired officers alarmed current and former military members concerned about the politicization of the military.

A day after 124 retired generals and admirals released a letter spreading the lie that President Joe Biden stole the election, current and former military officers are speaking out, calling the missive a dangerous new sign of the military being dragged into the trenches of partisan warfare.
The open letter on Monday from a group calling itself Flag Officers 4 America advanced the false conspiracy theory that the presidential vote was rigged in Biden's favor and warned that the nation is "in deep peril" from "a full-blown assault on our Constitutional rights."

“Under a Democrat Congress and the Current Administration,” they wrote, “our Country has taken a hard left turn toward Socialism and a Marxist form of tyrannical government which must be countered now by electing congressional and presidential candidates who will always act to defend our Constitutional Republic.”

The broadside also raises questions about “the mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief" and sounds the alarm about a host of hot-button issues, such as the border wall. It goes on to accuse congressional leaders of "using the U.S. military as political pawns with thousands of troops deployed around the U.S. Capitol Building."
The group's website claims that "we are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776."
“military being dragged into the trenches of partisan warfare.”

Like Milley soul-searching his “white rage”?
Or teaching our soldiers woke rhetoric?
Yeah, I’d say our military has already been dragged into the trenches of partisan warfare.

The US and Nato allies have agreed to withdraw all troops within 14 months if the militants uphold the deal.
President Trump said it had been a "long and hard journey" in Afghanistan. "It's time after all these years to bring our people back home," he said.
Talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban are due to follow.
Under the agreement, the militants also agreed not to allow al-Qaeda or any other extremist group to operate in the areas they control.
So…… not at all a “surrender treaty” but nice try.
Completely contingent upon the Taliban being good little boys.

I understand why you twist and manipulate facts and you may fool the naive, but most of us see through your nonsense.

Being honest. The longer he was President the less I liked his policies.I am one of those “walk away Democrats”.I really don’t know where the Democratic party disappeared to.It morphed into something I could no longer support.
I didn’t used to be into politics. Then things changed.I know many ex-Democrats who have switched sides.

Yeah, Paul Tsongas was attractive in 92 but got few votes. Zell Miller was just a top shelf American. The party got really radical in the 90s, but in reality they were just getting started.

This is nothing compared to the Facebook site I visit. The sad thing is that many of the people there actually know each other.Friendships ruined, families at each other’s throats, people swearing at each other non-stop,.People enjoy debating.
To be honest, this has had much the same “tone” as the basketball free boards when Weber was coach. It was unreal, with people challenging others to meet and fight. It was great fun, however.
I likely won’t be here long.It is becoming less fun, especially since so many people died during the summer riots, the idiots stormed the Capitol, and now this cluster-f of a withdrawal.
I am glad sports are starting. There is a Grand Canyon sized gulf between the two parties and I am not sure where the country winds up.

There have been political/ current events threads back here going back to at least 2015. Dtrain had to pay me $100 when Trump won the primaries and another when he won the POTUS. I paid him $100 when Nancy took back the gavel. They would randomly get deleted and we would PM a lot. There was a long PM with Cubs, Dtrain, TJ and myself for awhile. Cubs ws the only one I didnt meet in person. Seemed like a good guy even if we were not aligned politically.

That is what the Republican National Security Advisor to Trump, McMasters, characterizes it.

He agreed to vacate by end of April. He was the President until January 20. I know he had a very detailed plan to do so well under way. 😂 How many people did he evacuate, how many arms did he remove or destroy with only 3 months to completely evacuate? Hell he didn't even process any visas for the interpreters/helpers, because Nazi Stephen Miller, shut down the program for the last several years. Cut the spin.

Yep, DTrain paid me $100 in 2016 too. Man of honor. However, a really dumb bet on his part as the only way he would get paid is if HIllary had been able to create enough fraud in Utah.

With all of the real life matters, fires, hurricane damage, flood damage, Covid, you pick out a real important matter to fixate on. Shows the nonsensical nature of your side.
LOL. You left out Americans trapped in Afghanistan, American humiliation, the resident's dementia, 13 dead Marines, a 'president' owned by China/Russia/Iran, and a stolen presidential election. You also forgot to include a failing US economy.

By the way, it is the Trump loving "Cajun Navy" which is out saving lives in the Bayou. It's not this guy:

Here's some more real life impacts of Democrat COVID policies. You want to focus on death and destruction - look no further than Democrat policies. They kill people and that includes abortion.

Don't forget the border crisis. All of these other issues has allowed that to just continue to be a mess that is getting overlooked because they have created so many disasters in a very short period of time.

WOW, those are some politically created issues, kids getting fatter, people using more drugs. Minutia.

What made you like the Democrat Party in the first place? Honest question....
I was around a lot of musicians. It wasn’t a matter of liking a party, more so that it was the party of the majority of my relatives, friends.
To be perfectly honest,I never voted.I pretty much felt they were all the same.I always wrestled with the abortion issue, always thought it was wrong.
Ironically every single one of my old musician friends flipped to the Republican Party or became Independent.
I realized what a monster Clinton was(really effective President, though) but won’t get into that story. It actually became personal,as far out as that sounds.
Liked Obama, then I didn’t. He became Mr.Hollywood (wonder how many people are aware that he sent daughter to do an internship under Harvey Weinstein) Biden is an idiot.
Didn’t like Trump but liked his policies. He will be too old to vote for in 2024.Seventy eight years old doesn’t cut it.
That is the simplified,concise version.

On the other site the people who can dish it but can’t take it are ones the left.Nasty, unhappy, swear at you, block you.Not nearly as busy as they were ,since they realize Biden is a dingbat.
One is into this gender pronoun crap.Another was of a mindset that the woman was always right in every situation.I posted an article about a black man who was released after serving 30 years of a rape sentence that he was innocent of.She lost her marbles she was so pissed.

Guy from Australia is blasting the immigration policies of the US and loves to bring up racism in the US.I challenged him with Australia’s strict policies and the plight of the Aboriginals. He texted me and told me that I don’t really understand the complex dynamic with the aboriginal people. He is crazy wealthy, flies all over the world.
He texts me and tells me he was on the welcoming committee for important investors in Sydney(?) and was in charge of removing aboriginals over and over when they would wander into the party area, whacked out on “grog”.Reminded me of Sheldon Whitehouse.
Another would start off the day by asking my friend, who was undergoing chemo,if he had told him yet that day ,like he did everyday, that he was a “stupid mother f”Er.He knew what he was going through, but because he voted for Trump,he felt it was ok.
There are plenty of Democrats who aren’t like that, but they get shouted down by the nuts.More and more are “the nuts”.
Abolish the police…open up the prisons.Pay the criminals to not shoot people. That’s a dandy.
BTW..MSNBC Joy Reid and some other screwball are calling Repubs the “American Taliban”.

20+ years ago I was a registered Democrat, and a dues paying (2) Unions member.

Drano got a decent bottle of Scotch delivered to Texass by me, for losing a Lovie bet.

Check out this comment from the article I posted about paying the criminal.Isn’t this one of the most racist things imaginable?
“The key takeaway for city officials and experts was the conflicts involve a small number of people — not the entire Black or Latino communities.”

No shit.It is the same assholes over and over and over.
