This is the worst-coached Illinois team I've ever seen. Seeing it in person makes it so obvious. This team lacks leadership and discipline. You can see in warm ups that they are just messing around. They are totally lost on offense and have no clue how to work together to get a good shot. Substitutions take out players that are playing well and kill our runs. Michigan just eats Starks alive but he starts and gets most of the minutes. On defense we leave hot shooters open and give up open cutters to the hoop. When we do guard we have mismatches on defense.
Michigan has no talent but they all are playing to the little strengths they do have. That is coaching. The disparity between Beilein and Groce is massive. He and Bo Ryan and any other good coach will own us as long as Groce is here. He needs to be fired as soon as we can do it without hurting our ability to replace him with someone better. I am willing to give him one more year if it helps the coaching search but he needs to be gone.
