I was not sad to see DJT say Pompeo was not going to have a role in Admin 47. I don't know if he's humble enough to realize it, but who he picks to surround himself with is extremely important if he wants to have any success at all. Winning the house is also very important. I think we the people deserve batter than a bunch of specious impeachment attempts.

Mike Pompeo may have been the smartest guy to serve in Trump's first cabinet. Excellent public servant, understands the geo-political landscape, and is a straight shooter.

If you want to be successful, you can't surround yourself only with yes-men. One of Trump's faults is that he doesn't know what he doesn't know. Pompeo could help a great deal.

You have to have people with experience and expertise in the cabinet, not just political hacks who were loyal during the campaign.

Agreed. Again, why does Pompei not want the jfk files released? Who would it hurt?

We probably disagree on this, but I think guys like him are deeply embedded in a part of our government in desperate need of reform.

There must be something that happened in Trump’s first term that has him not wanting Pompeo anywhere near the White House. Pompeo was an exceptional SoS in my memory.

I'm just guessing, but I think they are going to want to reform the CIA among other extraconstitutional agencies, and Trump might want to avoid conflicting loyalties. I don't know of any incidents between he and Trump, and Pompeo was far from the most disloyal/abject failures of that admin. It's possible DJT is unhappy with Pompeo talking him out of declassifying the Kennedy stuff, and there is talk out there about Pompeo's appetite for assassinations that might rub Trump the wrong way. But I don't think it's a case of simply having his nose out of joint and not wanting Pompeo anywhere near him.

My opinion, Trump's administration is best served by a fresh start. Surely Pompeo is not the only person in the nation who can head up the state department in a way that aligns with Trump's foreign policy goals. When you see him bringing people around him like Kennedy, Musk, Gabbard, Ramaswamy, and Vance, he doesn't seem to be in search of yes men. I suspect, or at least hope, he'll do the same regarding the cabinet positions.

I have a friend that is friends with some others closer to this situation. They feel Pompeo is not one to help clean up the Swamp. He is fine, but will want to walk carefully around difficult decisions that could be seen as DC reform. I am not sure that is a person Trump needs/ wants this time around.

Uncle Ewing was a member of the Island club, but not that early.
He was a founding Partner of Milbank et al, which were the Lawyers for the Rockefeller Family.
As the Republican National Finance Chairman for Hoover's election, he later faded from politics as Asst Secretary of Treasury to his NYC law practice and passed on the train to Newport in 1947.

This ends my families search for fame and fortune !

The Depression showed monetary thinking of that era to be faulty !

Conceded. Don’t know. How a Brazilian firm was right.
They didn't have access to national press and social media propaganda !

I recall me stating the 312 Electoral College WIN, plurality of National vote, Senate AND House control !

I also don't read press, or let social media decide my views !

Look at the moron post and the morons posting underneath her. I will be happy when people who think they are educated and better than those who did not go to college actually come back to reality. They have slurped the far left nonsense and cannot actually think critically. Trump is not going to remove any rights from women.

Being first in his class at West Point didn't give him enough common sense to serve The Office of the President.

I would rather have persons available to ACT with common sense ! Example; John's plane takes off in Middle East fully loaded with gas and 23 souls for 12 hour INT flight in hot afternoon. They lose an engine as they are clawing for altitude, start to lose altitude on only 3 engines ! Co-Pilot grabs the Emergency, 6 inch thick, manual ! John tells him to forget the manual, we're about to crash ! "Hit the emergency fuel dump release switch, and drop 10,000 gallons of fuel, NOW !"
The loss of weight in fuel gave the plane enough lift to land safely !
The 23 man crew caried him off the plane on their shoulders !
