It will be interesting to see the final popular vote numbers. Currently, Kamala is roughly 14 million shy of the 81 million votes Biden received in 2020.

A bad poll? Surely, you jest. This woman pollster was praised for her accuracy in the past, went into Iowa and missed by 17 points.

Yeah, that's a pretty striking change, and I think Trump will be slightly down from his 2020 vote total too.
Seems to me it's maybe time for two things:
-Let's be gracious winners and gracious losers as the case may be.
-Might be time to, without histrionics, take a look at the 'realignment' in party affiliation and understand the dynamics and implications for what's left/right and conservative/liberal (using the older, less derisive distinctions) and see how the parties map.
Also, I wonder if this will affect the coalition of states who are trying to instigate a movement to direct their electoral votes to the popular vote winner irrespective of how their voters voted. I always thought that was about as awful an idea as I had heard in a while.
I don't think they are capable, but it would also be a good juncture for the corporate media, regardless of lean, to do a little self reflection.

If the Dems do take the House they will block everything Trump tries to do. However, Biden did a lot thru executive orders and Trump will as well.
From the various talking heads looking forward, Trump apparently is fully organized and ready to go on day 1 (Jan 20). For his first term his transition was shaky and he left losers like Comey in place way too long and some of the people he initially put in place were bad.
However you feel about Trump, for the US we need (and he needs) competent and America first people in the executive branch. Particularly the Justice Department has been corrupted under Biden.

Jeff - it wasn't a bad poll. It was pure fraud and an attempt to give people in your party HOPE. The fact that you fell for it is not surprising. She shared it with Democrats like JB Pritzker in advance laughing about it. I was in Iowa last week and saw exactly one Harris/Walz sign in the whole state. All other polls showed Iowa was OVER. You will note that neither Trump or Harris traveled to Iowa after that poll.
I agree that it's a disgrace how we execute elections across the country. I mean, 20-whatever years ago Florida was a national embarrassment and in short order they turned it around and are now one of the most efficient. But recently it's become accepted/the norm, possibly deliberate, for multiple states across the country to be unable to efficiently tally the most significant elections they hold And it's fascinating that they all seem to be among the so-called swing states.
However, I think the last thing we want is heavy federal involvement in national elections. An unscrupulous federal coalition could effectively end truly fair/competitive elections. Granted, voters in certain states may never demand their respective states get their act together, but that's their prerogative.

She got it really wrong. People mess up. I am a logical person so it makes more sense to me that she just had a bad poll then it was some nefarious plot to influence an election through a poll for a meaningless state.
It amazes me that after Trump's win that people are crying about a meaningless Iowa poll. MAGA is truly the party of grievance.

I ended up with what I wanted. You might not respect how I went about it, and that's fine. My vote (or non vote) wasn't impacting the race in my state.
Kamala didn't have a position to highlight. She was horrible on the border. She changed her Israel/Palestine position depending on where she was. She refused to say how she voted on the California crime bill. They thought she could just stay on the sidelines and let Trump self implode. That would have been the right move if people thought the country was headed in the right direction. Unfortunately for them, most of the country does not think we are headed in the right direction, and she didn't have any ideas to change that.
