Recruiting news Signing day decision to watch...

This seems to be trending to Michigan State, but Illinois is in the mix. Former Minnesota commit.

Pretzlaff: "When I decided it was in my best interest to decommit I looked at every offer I had to see what was best for me. This includes Stanford, Illinois, MSU, CMU, and Michigan. Didn’t want to rule out any opportunity that I had received. Will announce the decision Wednesday at 3."

Danny O'Neil no longer committed to Colorado

Will be interesting to see where OC Sean Lewis ends up. Won't be surprising if O'Neil follows him. O'Neil had an Illini offer, and if I remember correctly, was the #1 QB recruit on their board at one point.

Colorado has lost their stud 2025 recruits too. I think people are realizing that Coach Prime will move on when his sons leave campus.

Thread on your Ca’lil Valentine story?

We need a thread on your story on Ca’lil so people have something positive to focus on. Nice article and he seems like a very mature young man.

if he ran a 10.80 100m as a Junior I’d project he’s a 10.5 guy this year Scary that he only ran the third leg on his high school team. Fourth leg is usually the fastest guy.. He’ll definitely be the fastest player on next years team.

The only things missing is how much is his weight up to now?

NSD Central: Meet the Illini 2024 recruiting class

Ranking the Illinois 2024 recruits

Ohio State fans

I was talking with 2 doctors yesterday. Both thought Ryan Day should be fired because he lost again to Michigan. I told them we would trade places with their program. I said they were holding him to extremely high standards. It would be awesome to win 10 football games every year. Then pick your bowl. Ahh to dream.

Recruiting news A few recruiting notes

High school recruiting is really secondary right now. Illinois is done with high school kids in the 2024 class, barring a breakout kid emerging.

There’s already third party portal recruiting going on all around college basketball.

Priority for Illinois is a big wing / shooter. They could add a guard and possibly a big, depending on who stays and who goes. There are already a few guys on the radar.

Sounds like Jeremiah Fears will stay in the 2025 class. That makes it harder for Illinois, IMO. He could still change his mind, though.
