When you run a flat you can not get deep up field. Gives the D a chance to get under you. If Norwood was at pylon not deeper than a yard, its a conversion. He was 4 yards deep. The spacing should be back pylon and front pylon when running those plays from 3 yard line in.

All RB’s should have been (maybe have) catching flats, swings, wheels, seams. Get your thumbs together, eyes on the ball, and palms towards the QB. Curious how many reps McCray got on these routes. Great play call.

Not sure how much focus was put on with DJ staying behind the LOS on that screen. Critical play. How many times did coach’s tell him or how many times has he repped it?

Hold on Palcho was total BS call. The guy got spun and made a good Lebron James.

Love the OL switches they made, and how they are progressing.

Play action with QB. Noticed that many times we token fake on play action and the back is going opposite. Not sure if this is by design or mistakes. It doesn’t seem to be effective. We need play action to be the same as the big run plays. It is critical to get out of the fakes quick and get up in the pocket or slide away from pressure to get rid of the ball. The long play action and drops do not work well and give rush time to get there and DB’s time to recover.

QB’s have been late on many throws. A few times we got lucky and got PI’s off of it but missed some big plays. I feel this is something a QB coach can fix. The reads should be easier with the play action and threat of run. We need to read OLb”s and S’s. Throw to open space and not stare down receivers. Get rid of the ball.

I like Brandon running the ball a little bit with some scramble plays, roll outs, lead draw behind McCray and read option. I feel he is more exposed and likely to get hurt in the pocket. Get him running the ball, moving, and making plays. Get his juices flowing. (Let’s Go Brandon) (squared)

We need to attack the seams and middle of field. Get over the top on a 3 second release and quick play action fake. Find the Safety, and throw to spot and let your guy run to it.

Have some nice play action and misdirection off our power run game. Have a new 7 OL look or two. Schiano will be ready for all we have shown so far and probably anticipate some of our looks. We have to out-scheme him some, without getting away from what we did well last week.

Rushing touches: 20 apiece for Brown/McCray, 10 design runs/screens to IW, 5 a piece for Norwood & Love (If he has a good week at practice). Get TE’s some looks on routes they haven’t seen. Try another play action to Tip Reiman ( I know he dropped the only attempt to him) Get him and other blocking back a lot of touches this week catching the ball and get them on some nice conversions and big plays. They will be open.

We could put 40 on Rutgers with a great Offense plan and the D continuing to progress.
