This affects us all

Rill is simply trying to justify his "None of the Above" vote in November. He will not vote for the guy who had in his words "3 amazing years" because his initial COVID response wasn't perfect. As noted repetitively, Trump within 13 days of shutting things down was already saying it was a mistake ("the cure is worse than the disease"). For wanting to reopen, Dems called him a murderer. (Sound familiar? That's what they called RDS too).

Rill also conveniently forgets that Trump banned the Chinese from coming to America before case #1 even surfaced in the USA. Dems called him a racist.

I love you @rillaman, you're the best!!!

Trump had an amazing 3 years. He threw it all away with his big government response to COVID. He had his chance to go after the swamp, and he didn't.

He did have a track record of superior policy, but then abandoned it when we needed him. Now he has a million distractions and can't possibly have the focus he needs to run the country.

If Trump hadn't been President before, he'd be a hilariously bad candidate.
I am not sure what you are even arguing. Trump ran the country more responsibly by most any measurement. No new wars and 3 trillion less in spending. Most on here did not want Trump, but that ship sailed. I am sorry the left has distracted him using the law to attack their political opponent, but there is no sane argument that whoever is pulling weekend at Bernie's strings has the US citizens as their priority.

You say "the left has distracted him" with lawfare. But here's the rub, no one else was the central figure in the phony stolen election BS (a scam to steal a few hundred million that careened out of control in support of Trump's ego). No one else not just took documents they shouldn't have taken but then refused to give them back, conned lawyers into submitting false Affidavits they were returned, got caught on tape in lies about what was returned, and then comically and in classic Trump fashion tried but failed to destroy the evidence of the documents being moved around his property to avoid their return.

JOE BIDEN 100% HAD DOCUMENTS HE SHOULD NOT HAVE POSSESSED. PENCE DID TOO. I KNOW THERE ARE OTHERS.

And what did each of these folks do when the government learned about the issue of the documents? They returned them. What did the Orange **** do? He submitted false Affidavits and tried to hide the shit, then attempted to destroy evidence of his malfeasance.

Wow ... wonder how that dumbshit ended up getting prosecuted???!!! Real stunner.

I voted for RDS....

"COVID response wasn't perfect". Man, that is so generous. His COVID response was disastrous. He listened to Fauci who recommended closing schools (massive learning loss for young people, especially low-middle class), and basically shut down the economy. Then, the COVID response spending starting this period of massive inflation. You guys blame it all on Biden, it started under Trump. Hate to break that to you.

COVID was already here before Trump banned the Chinese from coming. Clearly it didn't do anything, because COVID still ran through the USA.

I can't believe people on the right actually believe that the COVID response just "wasn't perfect". Actually I don't believe it, and I don't believe you. You are just saying that to excuse the disaster that happened under Trump in 2020.

It's sad what has happened to a lot of so called conservatives. 10 years ago, if you told these same people that they would spend the next 10 years believing that a lifelong celebrity Democrat would be their leader, they would have pointed at you and laughed. The guy that cheated on all of his wives, including with someone he called a horsefaced porn star. The guy that created a fraudulent university. The guy that used the swamp to increase his family's wealth, and did nothing to slow down the gators that he promised to. He didn't take down the swamp, he enhanced it.

Everyone has abandoned their values for Trump. @tjfleck6 can say I've done the same, because he equates me not voting for Trump as a vote for Biden. I don't see it that way. I'll sleep fine at night knowing I didn't vote for either of these idiots trying to run our country.

Exactly. I would add to this I think Trump's changes to GOP orthodoxy are bad policy generally and that a political party who nominates a person of this character 3x deserves punishment. So I go one step further than you, and will vote to oppose Trump any time he's on my ballot.

That's exactly what they are doing, trying to convince themselves that an obvious **** up didn't **** up. Not either of our problem, but everything you said here is true.

Even better yet, the one good thing Trump does - accelerate the vaccine timetable - they hate. Talk about being mercilessly wrong.

I also find it truly remarkable that Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich (the 5 Republicans who made a serious case against Trump in 2016 and 2024) have all 100% avoided lawfare in their lives, while it has repeatedly derailed the Trump Train.

How could this be? How are Dems so malevolent and effective that they can only lay the gloves on ... Trump???

What's even better for Dems ... the lawfare (at least some of which is totally legit btw) has caused already addled Republicans to become EVEN MORE PRO-TRUMP. My God are these Republican voters dumb, real shock suburban normals are jumping ship every time they get a shot to vote!

Biden had his audio recording put in the trash(when the SP was assigned) of him bragging of having TS information and read the docs to the ghost rider. He also lied about it and had docs in multiple places. All illegal, but he has a bad memory so it is ok.

Says the guy wanting the the president that just proposed an over 7 trillion dollar budget and will finish as the highest spending president in history.

You two can keep slapping backs on this, but this makes zero sense for anyone wanting inflation to drop for the folks. The anti-conservative voters yucking it up over the so called conservatives 🤪

What is "TS information"?

Obfuscate all you want, but Trump may be facing zero prosecutions outside of the silly NY case in which I don't think he even faces jail time IF HE SIMPLY RETURNS THE DOCUMENTS WHEN ASKED.

The investigations into Trump accelerated significantly because of the document issue (and there's at least reporting that Biden's DOJ never had plans to do anything with respect to Trump until that issue forced its hand). Trump is solely responsible for the document issue.

I wouldn't have a problem with all the document holders being charged, but those cases are kind of silly and ticky tack UNTIL the person being charge does things like obstruct justice and try to destroy evidence, for no reasons other than being an overgrown child.

Rillaman has already stated he's opposed to both candidates and isn't voting for either.

I'm just chortling that you are claiming Trump as a belt tightener. MFer thinks massive debt is a good idea, has his whole life. At least he wasn't a hypocrite when he did it as President too, even before Covid (I believe we established that roughly $4T of the $8T he added to the national debt occurred prior to Covid).

At the end of the day, @ILisBest is completely unable to understand how classical liberals view themselves as hounded out of the party by the Trumpian-led MAGA right. But the vote totals in the suburbs make it clear - people who want a restrained government domestically but a fairly ambitious one in world affairs simply aren't comfortable in the modern GOP. Plenty of others are comfortable, particularly less educated former Democratic men, especially if they live in exurbs or rural areas.

The post-Trump GOP has many options. It can try for some sort of conservative populist fusion. It can go full populism. It can tacitly move away from Trump's legacy on key issues, which probably means suburban gains but perhaps some rural backsliding.

But we aren't there. We are in the midst of Trump, who btw is unable to voice a coherent thought on key issues and CURRENTLY CAMPAIGNING LESS THAN BIDEN in recent weeks.

Btw, it remains to be seen whether Trump can squeak back into the WH, but one thing is clear. The GOP has traded voters who show up for every major election and lots of the less meaningful stuff for voters they are hoping to get out once every 4 years.

That's another thing I keep wondering. Dems will have massive turnout money in the key states. Will Trump be organized enough in places like MI/WI/PA/GA/NC (the states that I think decide the winner) to get his own irregular voters out?

They’ve tried in Florida and nationally too. The rollout of the Covid vaccine with Publix who donated to him. Some claims of preferential distribution of vaccines. The crazy lady who got lots of press for claiming Florida was manipulating the Covid numbers. Actually in at least one of those instances Democrats came out in defense of DeSantis. He’s that good.

The Venn diagram I mentioned earlier…Trump has done things in his career that few other pols have. It leaves him vulnerable. DeSantis really hasn’t ever worked in the private sector. In real estate development,. Etc. Your comparing apples and oranges.

Yes, the GOP dumped the guy that is "that good", for a guy who clearly has some skeletons in the closet. They went after RDS, and found nothing. They went after Trump, and found plenty.

I've long said Trump should have stayed in the private sector. He'd be living the dream life of most people in their late 70s. Instead, he couldn't help himself. He didn't have enough, and knew that being President would give him and his family access to power brokers around the world. He wanted the best of the private and public sector, got greedy. Thought people like the Clintons and Bidens would protect him because he didn't go after Hillary, and he's been knee deep with them in the muddy swamp for years. Major miscalculation on his part.

Nah, he did well before, stumbled, and recovered nicely. Let's recall the 3Q GDP was the greatest in American history despite BLUE states remaining closed. The US GDP had rebounded to pre-COVID levels by the end of 2020. The US economy was the best in the world and the first to recover because re-opening it soon was Trump's priority. The evidence is there to be ignored by deranged types like you.

It's a given mistakes were made, but it is the ability to recover from such mistakes that makes for a leader. Trump recovered, RDS recovered, etc. Dems wanted everything closed and even told Trump he couldn't make them reopen.

March 23, 2020: Trump says it needs to re-open.

October 29, 2020: Greatest GDP Quarter in US history

Compare that with our peers, the US kicked ass. Europe suffered mightily.

Trump can't make states re-open:

Trump also got a harmless vaccine through trials which you were able to take once Biden mandated it. For you, this is surely a positive.

You can be as bitter as you want, but Trump pushed for things you wanted: reopening the economy, schools in person, and a vaccine. Personally, my net worth was UP in 2020 and believe me, it was down significantly in late February 2020. You know the Dems would have tried to keep the whole country closed with the exception of the border.

As I said, you need to justify sitting out the 2020 election.

You are just weak by doing your part to let Biden remain in power. Not good for America, you, or your kids. But, your choice!

It's the same nonsense from you: "a lifelong Democrat". How did he govern? He was very conservative. I, too, feared his past. He proved me wrong and governed as a conservative. It's too bad that so many so-called conservatives abandoned their "principles" because they didn't like the packaging of Trump and were too embarrassed to stand up for their principles. You also easily forget that Trump got RDS elected in 2018. Period.

As for Trump's philandering, who cares? It's not ideal, but I learned from a Democrat woman in 1992. About Bill Clinton, she said "He's my president, not my priest". Ideally, you get everything you want in a candidate. However, most do have shortcomings and sadly the Democrats have established the rules: cheating = OK, Ballot Harvesting = OK, Mail-in voting = OK.

Adapt or die. Or in your case, just whine.

TS = Top Secret.

There is no justification for Senator/VP Joe Biden, VP Pence, or anyone else (including me) who is not a President to possess classified material outside of a SCIF or otherwise protected area. In fact, it is ILLEGAL. As a security professional, I can tell you there is annual refresher training.

The only gray area is past Presidents (Bush, Obama, Trump).

You can be naive enough to say Pence and Biden gave it back. Too freaking late, you broke the law as you had no right to possess it. Guilty as hell.

It was a net gain in GDP of 1.7% that quarter. It had decreased by 31.4% the previous quarter. Basically regained the losses.

Meanwhile , you and your ilk burned down the country to the tune of two billion dollars and 30 people died from the BLM riots fueled by a non existent issue
You are saying that George Floyd was not murdered by suffocation by Minneapolis Police? That is a strange belief.

It’s comical. The right gets giddy about an illegal committing a crime just like the left does when there is a mass shooting.

Because people who invest so much of their personal energy into "the cause" are often troubled and/or compensating for other issues.

And almost all of said people base their opinions on anecdotes and not philosophies.

It's bizarre he brags about Q3 2020, as if the scope of the initial lockdown wasn't the terrible decision that caused massive economic chaos necessitating six months of profound disruption. On the personal level, said disruption last more like 15 months for most people (and the true economic disruption continues to the present day).

It’s comical. The right gets giddy about an illegal committing a crime just like the left does when there is a mass shooting.
So wait, it shouldnt be shared or it’s not going to be a problem? Do you think the people that are pouring across have been properly vetted? Do you trust the data that will be released about this by the very people that are intentionally enabling it?
