This affects us all

Still quiet I see on the inflation front! Hilarious, you have the gall to call a guy out. The guy owns you and cites Biden’s free money to not work program. Later that day, Biden says yeah, that program contributed to inflation and little Jeff has nothing to say.

Great vote Jeff! Even the socialist you voted for acknowledged he contributed to the problem big time. But, Jeff, the Republican, assigns no blame.
Ever hear the concept of supply and demand? Most of the inflation right now is caused by a lack of supply.
Have you tried to shop for a new car? The inventory is close to zero. The shortages are mostly due to the inability to produce not overheated demand. Prices are rising a bit due to stimulus money but it is not the main driver and everyone knows it. It is more about foreign plants closing due to COVID rather than overheated demand.

The reason I have not responded to your posts is that I find it rather pointless to attempt any discussion with you since you are so rigid in your beliefs. Similar to real life, I don't spend much time with people who just say "I am right and you are wrong". Life is too short to spend my time like that.

Just curious, @JeffT818 @stoneaxe27, do any of Biden’s lies on the campaign trail bother you? Vaccine mandates? He said he wouldn’t put those in place.

I think the messaging on taxes is much worse. All that talk about taxing the rich, and not raising taxes on the middle class. Now he is passing a bill that raises taxes on the middle class while giving the rich access to a loophole that was removed. How do you guys feel about that?

They don't care. No more mean tweets.

The largest tax increases will be incurred by the very wealthy. There are some in the middle that will have a very small tax increase (less than $100). I was never in favor of the Trump tax cuts for individuals so I am good with it.

Regarding the SALT cap, I am not in favor of repeal but it will only be temporary until 2025 so it does not move the needle for me very much.

Regarding vaccine mandates, I don't care one way or another. I would prefer that those under 30 be excluded but it is not something I am passionate about. The reality is that the risks are very low either way. In addition, if you feel that strongly about not getting vaccinated work for a company with less than 100 employees or become an entrepreneur.

In summary, I am ok with it.

Always love that argument. Pretty tough for the majority of Americans to just leave a job and go become an entrepreneur. Not everyone is in the market for a 2nd home and can take a chance like that.

If you have regular contact with the public be it a policeman, fireman or EMT, then I have no issue with a vaccine mandate. I know many companies that would welcome the Biden mandate since it gives them clarity regarding how to proceed with the COVID minefield. Based on my interactions with HR personnel, there are many more employees that want a mandate than those who don't.

You have the right not to get vaccinated but you don't have the right to work where ever you want because you are unvaccinated. If I own a business and I want all my employees to be vaccinated, then I have the right to implement such a policy.

Yes, if you own a business and you want people to be vaccinated, you should be able to make that choice. I’m a big believer in that freedom.

What you are describing is much different than govt mandates. Companies are not just asking employees to get vaccinated. They’re being forced to ask by our govt.

From a HR perspective, most organizations will welcome clear government direction. With the Biden mandate, you will have to be vaccinated or tested weekly. Nobody will lose their jobs if they choose to be unvaccinated but they will have to be tested weekly which is an inconvenience.

Currently, COVID is a big HR problem. Employees seems to be in one of three groups,
  • Employees who are very anxious about COVID and are very uneasy about going to the office for any amount of time.
  • Employees who have a more measured attitude. Most of these employees are vaccinated but some are not. They have a more balanced attitude to COVID - reasonably cautious.
  • Employees who are anti-vaccine and believe COVID is a hoax. These employees do not take precautions and are angry at those who do.
The middle group is probably 80% of employees and are not a problem. It is the other two groups that are the challenge.

There are other considerations as well. If an organization has a vaccine mandate, then you have to deal with the bogus religious exemption applications. Most of these are not legitimate and are people who just don't want to be vaccinated or tested. If you don't have a vaccine mandate and someone gets severely sick or dies, then you may have legal liability due to the organization not taking all the necessary steps to protect your employees.

Finally, inquiring about vaccine status is NOT an ADA violation. Asking about vaccine status is not asking for health information. Knowing someone's vaccination status in no way reveals anything about that person's health.

Ummm, it’s a cartoon, they have to simplify it so guys like you can understand.

Revoke leases, stop new leases, increase regulations, kill active pipelines, campaign on ending all fossil fuels all contribute to the disaster.

Export the oil? Yes, it is a world market. Supply helps.

Lastly, why aren’t you really proud of poopy pants for achieving one of his stated goals? He campaigned on this issue and he has followed through.

I can clearly remember OPEC pumping us into gas lines TWICE in my lifetime.

Has a company ever asked for vaccination records prior to this? (outside of healthcare of course)

Agree to disagree here. Once you let govt make this step you’re not getting it back. It’s wrong.

Disagree. Most smart companies don’t want to lose valuable employees. And that’s what’ll happen. I’m not talking about HR departments, I’m talking about the parts of the company that actually make the $$$$$$.

What exactly is your concern? It is my understanding that the information will remain with the organization unless there has been a change that I am not aware.

If every company has to follow the same rules, where are employees going to go?

Also, many potential employees want to work in organizations with a vaccine mandate - particularly younger professionals. In terms of recruiting college educated professionals, having a vaccine mandate helps more than it hurts.

Mary Anne has received 2 Moderna shots and has had 16 swab tests over the last year, and NO positives. Her employer that wanted the testing paid her her hourly hour rate of ($ 40 ) per test.

Now with Brandon's mandate testing has stopped

I am not sure why a typical employer would keeping testing employees who are fully vaccinated.

Like the FBI breaking down the reporters home door searching for more Biden family personal documents ?

Ha. Why not? They can still get covid. 14 fully vaccinated kids have already gotten covid on my son’s baseball team this fall.
I think there is probably closer contact in a youth sports setting than in a typical office. Our office (95% vaccinated) has been opened for 4 months and there has not been a single case.

Does every company have the same rules? Wouldn’t a company with 100 employees have to comply, while a company with 99 employees would not?

Okay. 33% of all of the hospitalizations in Vermont are people that were fully vaxxed. I’m not sure if they are all shortstops though.

The companies that will fight this nonsense. Or allow exemptions. There are plenty of those out there, especially here in Tennessee where I live, where they feel strongly about our rights.

Frankly I don’t want to employ people that think the vaccine they received isn’t good enough. If they can’t critically think then they aren’t worth it to me, it’s vital in my industry.

The vaccines aren’t vaccines. They are therapeutics. I started a company almost 30 years ago that now has roughly 200 employees. Our employees should be able to make their own decisions regarding vaccinations. Anyone with half a brain understands the drug companies and Democrats are in it for as long as they can milk it. Good lord. They want 5-12 year olds vaxxed.

That certainly could happen with employers in the range of 100 employees or so. However, I typically don't see employees go from large companies to small ones or visa versa. There will indeed be some movement around the margins going both ways employees who like mandates and those who do not.

Why? If people are at risk and/or afraid of the virus, feel free to get a shot..... or three. Leave the rest of us alone.
The problem is that some people have compromised immune systems and/or are medically unable to get the shot. If you are an EMT, you should not be putting people at risk who have medical issues.

As a business owner I certainly understand your position. I am not saying a mandate is right or wrong; just that companies need direction from the government on how to handle COVID in the workplace. I can work in either environment; I just need to make sure the company is protected from a risk management perspective. Like I said previously, I don't feel that strongly about vaccine mandates either way.

That’s cuz they’re scared shitless of a lawsuit.
How about the medical and political “leaders” pushing the message of “get vaxxed if you want to and you assume any risks if you don’t.” Mandating a weak-ass vaccine that has a bunch of known, serious side effects (and who knows how many side effects that haven’t come to light yet) for a virus that largely goes unnoticed is unconscionable.
You have the right not to get vaccinated but you don't have the right to work where ever you want because you are unvaccinated. If I own a business and I want all my employees to be vaccinated, then I have the right to implement such a policy.
That sounds an awful lot like discrimination.

In terms of recruiting college educated professionals, having a vaccine mandate helps more than it hurts.
Lol
With all that college education, you’d think they’d be smart enough to see a feeble vaccine that offers little, if any, protection from a virus that will likely have little to no effect on them anyway.
This is one of, if not THE, biggest ruses in American history.
