I have no issue with a thorough review of ALL Garland investigations AND prosecutions and arresting those person's who broke the law.I think about the worst thing that can happen is to put a right-leaning equivalent of Garland in charge of the DoJ. Politicization of justice and law enforcement is a really bad thing and amplifying it would be a disaster as the pendulum swings in both directions and it will spiral out of control. That's what my discomfort with Gaetz in that role is, I've come to realize. That said, I think it's essential to give the department a very thorough and frankly merciless root canal which ironically probably means a jettisoning of the entire DoJ leadership, and the leadership of every entity that reports to them.
Along with that, the idea of relocating a lot of these entities well away from DC is really growing on me.
I also think DOGE can be really good thing as long as it doesn't turn into a collection of political hatchet men. Again, because of the pesky swing of that pendulum and the probability it will spiral out of control. It should go after financial waste and especially the institutionalized wholesale grift.
I'm probably naive but I'm clinging to the belief that it's still possible to restore the 'for the people' charter of the federal government.
That is NOT retribution, but JUSTICE !
