9-1 going into Michigan game?

Can we? I think so. Will we? Maybe. Gotta keep focus. The defense could keep us in every game. Also playing Michigan the week before the tOSU game is a good thing imo. Will UM overlook us heading into the giant matchup with Ohio state?

Being 6-1 is amazing and everything g else at this point for me is icing on top so to speak. Love seeing the Illini back to being respectable. Hope this can be sustained for years and we can build the program.

Go illini

What I've gathered from the Kansas scrimmage

After talking to multiple people on Saturday...

As has been reported, Illinois and Kansas scrimmaged on Saturday. They played just one half of game simulation with score-keeping, etc. Then several shorter, more controlled, periods.

I've heard Illinois won the 20 min period by 2 points. There wasn't emphasis on the score, really. It was mainly about testing different lineups and situational stuff.

They did play with 5 wings at times and spread the court, as Underwood said they would. Turnovers were a problem, and I' m not really completely bought in to that position-less stuff with this team.

They'll need to settle on a primary ball handler, and when your only two true guards are freshmen its going to take time. Epps is the most steady. Clark the better scorer.

Terreance Shannon Jr. was the best player, which comes as no surprise. His size is tough to match up with, and I think he'll be more bought in defensively at Illinois.

The word "sloppy" popped up with each person I talked to. Neither team has its shooting legs yet, so a lot of bricks from 3.

Skyy Clark and Ty Rogers were the first freshmen in the game. Clark tried to do too much early, but settled down. Jayden Epps also got time at PG. The battle between those two is ongoing, not settled.

Luke Goode will play a bigger role that people think. He's probably their best 3-point shooter, and he's a plus passer.

Coleman Hawkins and Matthew Mayer were active on the glass and defensively, but never really got going on offense.

Questions?

11/5 vs Michigan St (Dads Day)

Does anyone have any guesses as to kickoff time for this? I’m hoping 11am as we’re coming down with another family but cannot find hotel rooms so heading back after. I know DD books up well in advance but didn’t think I could make this weekend so never tried. Four kids 7-13 who want to throw the ball around Lot 31 plus a few adults who’d enjoy a bourbon or two.

just praying it isn’t a night game.
