13 - Purdue
14 - Illinois
16 - Oregon
17 - Michigan
18 - UCLA
19 - Maryland

I feel pretty confident right now that these are the best six teams in the Big Ten (Big Teen?)
Maryland was 38 preseason, UCLA was 28, Michigan was 36, Oregon was 29, Illinois was 23, and Purdue was 10. So some of these teams have overachieved. Purdue was probably slightly overrated.

I think Illinois, Oregon, and Maryland are contenders and Purdue, Michigan, and UCLA are pretenders.

Yesterday Clearwater Central Catholic won in overtime. Newton had a 60 yard td run in regulation. And his team threw a 2 point conversion in OT to win the game. 22-21 Final score. Next is the state finals. Newton was hurt at the end of the game. Leg injury and backup QB tossed in the extra 2 pt.

10:00 minutes left in Happy Valley and the Nittany Lions putting a whooping on the #9 Boilermakers 65-38. Purdue looks lost. I am glad we don't have to play them there. A reminder to us there are no easy conference games.

I find it funny the ACC was tired of the B1G beating them. So, they scheduled the SEC to take their place. The SEC is now massacring the ACC.

Watched the second half last night. Neither team looked very good, neither as good as last season's team. Neither could close it out, limited offense, missed shots, missed free throws. NW led most of half by deferring to Martinelli every possession who was I believe 6'7", played at the rim and Iowa could not stop him. NW was up 2 with about 6 seconds left, Iowa has the ball and could not run a play to get a shot off. Time out with .8 seconds left. Iowa puts the ball in play by passing to a guard 26 feet from rim that catches, spins and throws up a prayer which goes in for the win. Most surprised player on the court was the shooter.

The Badgers are Back. Gard has an impressive squad on his hands. I love the way they play on offense. Always moving and cutting in the lane and exploiting their passing skills.

I hope Undie is taking notes.
