I'm all for the pretty much blanket pardons for 1/6 on 1/20 at 1201 EST. For those who actually committed violence - no. But, who did actually commit violence? Not many with the exception of the Capitol Police who literally got away with murder.

The American people don't care about January 6 as evidenced by the last election and the Democrats constant whining about "Democracy is on the ballot". Only dupes like Train, Jeff, and Icky were deeply troubled by that day as evidenced by the FACT that Trump was favored on the issue of "Democracy" in this here Republic. And FWIW, the FBI and deep state involvement will come out. They had a large number of embedded operatives including poor old Ray Epps.

Lastly, these pardons will be absolutely buried by the constant whining of the Democrats as Trump goes all in on issue after issue. You name it, it will upset Train, Icky, and Jeff - end of aid to Ukraine, Deportation, Israel/Hostages, Deportation (I like Deportation), Keystone piping, firing of Federal Attorneys, executive orders, and so forth. It's going to be a whirlwind and this is not something Trump will want to drag out with a 3 judge panel - not that a 3 judge panel is a bad idea.

And I'm for investigating and prosecuting the J6 committee for destruction of records. After all, "Records" are very important to Stone, Icky, Train, and Jeff. They approved the raid on Mar-a-lago and condoned Senator / VP Biden having top secret documents in his garage. Too bad he was ruled too incompetent to be charged - that is Jeff's guy!
Arrest all that committed crimes ! Let them pay hundred's of thousands of Attorney fees !

A fair opinion.

The proposed pardons for the rioters who invaded the U.S. Capitol almost five years ago (can you believe it) can work both for and against President Trump, depending on how he handles the complex situation.

The fact that all of those prosecuted were ardent Trump supporters brings an emotional component to Mr. Trump's decision. It's tough to let the legal bus rollover folks who love you.

But justice is also in play here. The country simply cannot allow political violence. Most intelligent folks understand that. Therefore, no blanket presidential pardon should be issued.

Here's the fair way to decide the fates of more than 1,500 individuals charged in the situation. Have the Attorney General set up a panel of three well-respected judges to review each case separately and make recommendations. Then, follow the consensus of the judges unless extraordinary circumstances are present.

That would take politics out of it and put precise reasoning into it. Who could object to that?

The testimony is already on the record, so the process should move quickly. President Trump, of course, has the power to override decisions, but this gives him an opportunity to examine each case in a fair way.
Nancy in jail is the correct decision !
