I was on the fence about this stuff but it is very clear to me now.
1. 5 arrests in the last two years. Rice and Cosby suspended for off court incidents.
2. Awful product on the court.
3. Xs and Os highly suspect and He clearly has no idea what it takes to BUILD a program in this league as far as developing big men and PG's.
4. Dwindling attendance in a 180million dollar facility
I for one do not believe the money excuse at all. The buyout is fairly small relative to the interest a new coach would generate. Whitman is too smart not to realize this. I also think Illinois boosters will step up if he has the right coach lined up. I would do the exact same thing he did with Cubit. Have a deal in place with your guy and then serve Groce his papers.
