Palm has us as a 12-seed in a play-in game against TAMU. Then he has us playing 5-seed UNC. No 5-seed will want to see Illinois opposite them as a #12, but UNC is a Jekyll and Hyde team depending if they're hitting jumpers (sound familiar?), so we'd have a puncher's chance against them. That would be as good a matchup in the second round as we could expect.
He does say we still have work to do in the B1G tourney to stay in his bracket. Hopefully just one game's "work" will do it. But, maybe we'll catch Wisconsin playing flat in their first game of the tourney and they won't feel like they have much to play for. Groce needs to pull out some of his post-season magic.
Palm also has IU in a play-in game in Dayton as an 11-seed and Purdue in the bracket also as an 11. If a 12-6 conference record gets you an 11-seed, this has to be the weakest B1G since they expanded the field to 64. Of course the rest of the field isn't much better, so maybe basketball can follow their football brethren's example and surprise everyone in the Big Dance this year. I can't believe we're at the end of this season already.
