Forget it….

History - is at least partially created by books from "journalists" setting the narrative. A NBC reporter and a reporter for the Hill are releasing a book that makes at least two claims about the last election (see attached article). 1) Obama did not think Harris could win and was working to set up mini primaries and other ways to bring forth other candidates. 2) Biden continually requested Harris to not to diverge from or criticize his policies as he thought it would hurt his legacy.

Will history say that Obama tried to head off Harris' nomination and was thwarted by Biden and others rushing to endorse Kamala before he could deliver a better candidate? Did Biden torpedo Kamala's candidacy by appealing to her loyalty to bad policies? I think Obama would like both of those narratives in history.

Lots more books coming. I'm waiting for the ones that try to say who actually ran the White House this past 4 years. I kinda think the auto-signature pen should be blamed....

At the time there was a lot of speculation that Biden endorsed Harris because he was upset at BO for leading the behind the scenes movement to oust him from the race. So that sort of lines up with BO not supporting her.

Of course now it's not obvious Biden consciously did anything through his own initiative, so perhaps someone in his circle put him up to it.

The whole Biden presidency, starting with his basement campaign, is probably a fascinating (and likely somewhat scary) story. I hope someday someone tells the whole truth about it.

DOGE-isms;

SS has combined with DOGE for eliminating 9.9 Million SS #'s of alive ghosts OVER 120 years old !

Only 2.0 million left to delete/change to deceased.

They have all been changed to deceased !

One person has registered for 400,000 separate SS numbers.

Arrest imminent !

Elections went well for Republicans in Wisconsin tonight. (The Florida results were also bad, especially the race replacing Gaetz where Dems showed real persuasion and not just turnout advantage gains, but those were hugely GOP districts so the outcome was fine for the right.)

The first of many slaughters over the next 4 years. Get ready for the greatest resurgence in the history of the Dem Party, by simply existing and not being whatever Trump/Musk currently are.

On a more positive note, Trump & Putin (in fairness I've like Trump's moves on Ukraine over the last month) have goaded Zelensky into a 2025 election he's near certain to win, probably handily! That will be fun!

Fraud huh? Your name is bung23?
There are several of us who think you start new accounts under new names to disguise your original identity. It may not be the case but you post nearly identical to someone under a different screen name who was ridiculed and proven wrong so many times that he left the site….only to return under a different name. And like I said, you post nearly identical and that’s why you get the reactions you do.

Ridiculed and proven wrong so many times that he left the site? I’m impressed. A bunch of master debaters here.

Nope. We think that you can say whatever the hell you want but we reserve the right to rip what you say to shreds if it’s liberal or anti-American.
I’m sorry, but calling someone deranged isn’t exactly “ripping them to shreds.” That seems to be the go to.

And here you go casting aspersions….
It’s been a real treat having you here….
I think you misinterpreted the post. I said you’re a master debater. You do it so often you’ve reached the pinnacle of your craft. It’s impressive.

In the Florida special election the Dem had $10 million and the Repub $1 million, until some late money came in for last minute advertising. I think the voter ID results in purple/blue Wisconsin is an interesting tea leaf. If we had this law nationwide the Dems would lose a lot of votes.

When I think of the Dem party, I think it now is a party for progressives. When I think of the Reoub party I think it is weeding out the old guard but after Trump, it is still being defined. I'm not sure 2026 elections will define this but the 2028 ones will.

I read that the fake poll showing this race to be close was an effective fund raising scheme.

No one in their right mind thought the Dems would win the Florida races. They were looking at an improvement or swing from the 30+ races they were in November. They turned out to both have about 15 point swings in the Dems' direction. If that swing occurred in a mid-term election for the entire House, the Republicans would lose about 40-50 seats. So much for your permanent MAGA government.

Yeah, that was a pretty strong mandate. Even the large majority of the parts of the state that supported the defacto (D) judge voted for it. I wonder if the state SC there can undermine it. Unfortunately for (R)s the judge they elected campaigned on gerrymandering to favor (D)s.

Oh poor stone, Rs don't do special elections very well. The Dems have a great scheme for it, fact.

One takeaway could be Rs aren't very popular with Trump not on the ticket.

As for the fundraising ploy, I did NOT specify which party was after the money - but I did assume it was the Democrats. Wrong! The "close" poll that was put out was a money-grabbing scheme by Rs!

The big Dem spending spree is the Florida special election (Florida-6) where I actually think the GOP performed respectably. Sure the margin came down a lot, but Rs got outspent by a ton and the partisan lean of the voters was far more Dem than a non-special election would be.

Wisconsin had over 85% of midterm turnout yesterday (the 2022 Governor race had about 2.7M and yesterday had 2.4M), and Dems absolutely rolled despite plenty of Rs showing up. The Florida-1 race was much closer than it should have been based on the relative lean of the electorate, which was heavily R by registration. Both of these races saw clear persuasion advantages for Dems, persuasion advantages I suspect will be with us for most of the next 4 years (including 2028).

As for Dems, they are no doubt far more beholden to their activists than they should be. But I'd take their primary voters over GOP primary voters in a heartbeat, Dems are actually much better than Rs at actually nominating fairly "normie" politicians. I don't know that the Dem leadership will grow a spine anytime soon, but I strong suspect their next nominee will be more to the center of their party than how you perceive them (see Joseph R. Biden, Jr. for an example of that, even though he then allowed himself to be consumed by the activist idiots).

Republicans nominate Vance and Trump Jr. at their own peril in 2028 ... talk about inviting a Dem trifecta!
