Medicaid pays for nursing home care for many seniors both poor and middle class who run out of money. In fact, many nursing homes will let seniors pay for a period of time and then accept Medicaid.
What will happen if this option disappears?

Undocumented workers are not eligible for Medicaid. About 281 billion of the Medicaid budget goes to nursing home care.
Currently there is a five year look back provision for Medicaid eligibility, some people will transfer most of their assets before the 5 year period to retain the assets in the family and still become eligible for Medicaid. You could have a look back provision since birth and force people to drain their nest egg for nursing home care.

You have now mentioned Medicaid as it pertains to nursing home care in three posts. Can you show me where Doge or POTUS has discussed cutting those specific benefits?
I made one post and responded to two others. Medicaid cuts are currently being discussed presently with no decision being made yet.
However, since care for seniors and people with disabilities make over half of the Medicaid budget, it would be likely cuts would impact seniors and disabled people.
My initial post was to draw attention to the fact that Medicaid isn't just for the poor.
If you are going to reach at least 1.5 trillion in cuts, you will need to make cuts to Medicaid unless you start making real cuts to the defense budget. The announced DOGE defense cuts to this point have been minuscule.
The larger point is this. If you want to cut the budget by 1.5 - 2 trillion, many people will be negatively impacted. The idea that you could find that much in waste and fraud is laughable.
DOGE is already cutting funding for medical research. These spending cuts are going to impact all of us in one way or another.
I cannot since nothing has been decided yet. Maybe Medicaid will be untouched if DOGE scales back its goals
