The election that rocked to the core conventional beliefs about political coalitions in America.
As it turns out, everyone regardless of what demographic they belong to cares about the price of groceries.
A couple of more realities that the parties will need to deal with based on the turnout, results, and exit polling:
1. Young people (the last two generations of voters) don't care about race and gender and many of the other things that the campaigns focused on. They care about their futures, and they don't currently see a path to home ownership, accumulation of wealth, retirement bliss, etc.
2. Trump, at 78 years of age, is essentially the first President of the digital age. Podcasters and social media pulled more weight than traditional media. There's too much information available to voters for campaigns and their media cohorts to manipulate it. Americans have a well-calibrated bullshit meter. Stop trying to gaslight them.
