Chasing Summer’s Headlines

We literally just saw a video of what they were exposed to. Violent anti protestors.

I don’t think kids should be exposed to the pride stuff and I don’t think they should be exposed to violent protests. You seem to be OK with one and not the other.

I’m being consistent here. Don’t bring kids to any of this shit. They can’t decide to be there, it’s all about the parents. Leave the kids at home.

We have clear evidence that these demonstrations can put children in a vulnerable position. At a minimum, she should have left when the mob started to arrive.
No. You aren't consistent at all. Shame on her that in this country Christians don't have the same 1st amendment rights as Soros-funded activists. She should have left when the mob started to arrive? Once again you have no video to lead you to any conclusion of that nature. I still remember Rand Paul getting chased down the street because Dems were threatening him and his wife. Maybe everyone should just stay home. No one should go to Chicago right now because there's a chance their car might get jacked or worse. We should all know better.

She has the same rights. She practiced them. And she put her baby at risk. That was a choice.

I avoid parts of Denver when I have my kids with me. Assessing risk/reward is something adults can do. Babies can’t. I thought we knew that. Conservatives say it regularly when parents allow children to make decisions that could harm them.

If a Jewish Mom took her kids to a pro Palestinian/Jewish demonstration, I’d highly criticize the Mom, along with the agitators. It’s not an either/or situation. People are crazy. Make smart decisions that protect your family first.

Arkansas just forced a CCP owned company to give up its land. Also in Arkansas CDL drivers must speak English.
Swillery and Slick Willie have cheap riverfront properties for sale at their White River development !

Arkansas Land Cheap !

My blame would obviously be with the violent crowd.

But I would question her decision making. She has a baby to protect. That’s a bad crowd to be around if you are trying to protect your baby. Clearly wasn’t her #1 concern, and it should be.

Use common sense. Don’t unnecessarily take your children to areas where violent people are gathering.

Well, she is an idiot for living in the state of Washington just as you are an idiot for living in Colorado. See how easy that is....

Fair. If my in-laws weren’t here, we would probably move. They are getting older. Family is important to us.

We do discuss it pretty regularly. I’ve had opportunities to move to STL/KC and we have considered it. But there are many things to consider.

For my kids, they don’t see a lot of the stuff out there. We shield them from it because they are kids. To them, Colorado is still America’s best playground. Would be tough to move them to a place with less to do, worse weather, etc.

I have so many friends in a similar situation. I must say, if you are considering St Louis, I would just stay in CO. KC would be a nice choice. There are so many good choices between TN, FL and TX. I also love Bentonville. What a great combination of corp jobs and small town living that is!

My mother(who is conservative) stayed in Bloomington, IL post retirement as my grandmother was in assisted living. Waiting for someone to pass is difficult business as my grandmother lived to almost 106. She had mostly lost her memory by the late 90s.

I would live where you want and factor in some travel for you or them.

My mother and stepfather now live by us in the Texas hill country. They absolutely love it here.

I think the point Uncoach was making is attending something with religious people is not putting oneself in danger 99.999% of the time. Hopefully, the FBI and feds punish the people causing problems. Lord knows, Seattle will do little to punish anyone as they victim blame. What a shit show that city is.

Yes, we are entering that sandwich generation, a lot of things to consider. My in-laws are 25 minutes away and that has made life easier. When my daughter was born, we lived just south of Boston and had no family nearby. Moving out here was a no brainer at the time. It's worked out well for us, and now we could realistically sell our house and move wherever we want.

The only reason I would move to STL is because my sister lives there and my parents are still in Springfield. They are a little bit older than my in-laws, so we might move back to help with them someday. Fortunately, my parents are not selfish, and don't want us to move back anytime soon. I think I'd be miserable in STL after living out here. Not much to do and the weather is horrible during the summer months. KC is nice, but we would be 7 hours away from both our families.

The public schools in our county are pretty highly respected. Not perfect, but pretty strong compared to most areas. Like most people, we are just trying to do the best for our kids.

Yes, I understand that. But I would think that most would agree that a protest in Seattle is unlikely to be completely safe.

I'd also think that most would agree that babies don't belong at protests. Hopefully they are peaceful, but we have enough evidence that many are not. You have to use some common sense when thinking about places to bring your kid. Take them to church. Don't take them to protests.

Well, I believe the majority of religious people attend peaceful rallies. When I think of protests, I think of agitators.

I think you changed your label of the religious people that gathered. Maybe it's nothing and I never attend stuff like this, so I am no expert.

I get what you are saying, but maybe the young mother was there to offer support to her religious friends and never dreamed this rally or gathering would be violently attacked.

A wonderful State for the outdoors as a family. year round.
One question: insects ?

Limited DOGE cuts, zero people convicted in the Epstein trafficking crimes, more spending. Exactly what Trump and his associates promised, right?
Why would you blame Trump? It's the Congressional Republicans that are the issue. They are not in DC much. Trump still has 90 some spots to fill they haven't even voted on yet. He's creating EO's, but those Republicans need to pass them into law. As for Epstein, I don't care. There are bigger fish to fry right now. Trump just fired NSC employees for leaking to Rice. People still aren't getting that Deep State is giving one helluva fight. I am irritated that ISAID funding was not cut. Gas is down, Eggs are down, The country is going in the right direction according to 48% of the country. The EO's need to get codified or Republicans will lose the House in 2026.

There is a wonderful town in NJ, on the Atlantic Ocean. Called Ocean Grove. It used to be predominately Methodist, with members living in large tents for the Summer on little lots. A huge auditorium where prominent religious speakers like Billy Graham preaching.

There were limited streets to enter or leave town, and the town would chain those closed at Midnight on Saturday till midnight Sunday.
No motor vehicles at all.

My Mom (Year round) and Dad (Summered) families lived one town North and were a mix of Presbyterian and Methodists. Grandfather Aaron the Presbyterian Minister, Uncle Bobby the Methodist Minister.

Now they allow cars, but NO liquor is sold in town at stores.

There is no real reason for anyone seeking a conservative government to move to NJ. The town sounds nice although I don't get the liquor laws.

Just that there are nice places in a lot of States if you look.
