That’s not quite how it works. Congress appropriates the money for USAID, but the agency itself (or the State Dept under some presidents or a combination of both) has broad authority as to where the money goes specifically. Thats why there’s been a power struggle over who controls it every time a new president is elected.
Agree but would add it is no coincidence that 12 and 15 year records were set in the first 2 full months after Trump won the presidency.

I think he’s brainstorming how to help the area get back to normal in a better way. Do I think it’s a good idea or not? I would say no, but I don’t know the details. It is a great idea by Trump. By razing it to the ground and removing the people, HAMAS is gone. The US can reroute the 50 Million in condoms that @JeffT818 was proud to donate to Gaza. The Gulf states can provide the rest of the money and manage their investment going forward.

Yep. Jeff and train were all up in arms about Trump’s tariffs. I tried to tell Jeff (I think the train may have been self-removed at that juncture) that tariffs are a negotiating tool. Something something TDS. Yes. Big flails.
