..and in other news

Last time it took some effort and 2 extra phone calls from the bank after I got the money. The noob didn’t get all the info they needed. It was irritating enough that I decided to start taking cash out more often in smaller chunks.
Some smaller suburban banks don't keep large sums of cash on site. They will request time to have the asked for sum delivered on their regular armored car delivery.

I needed $ 5,000 to pay my movers for NJ to Florida after Amex fouled up the transaction. I had no Fla East Coast bank account, so I went to enough ATM's with different CC's that allowed $ 800 in cash transactions and got the cash !

Ya, that’s 60 miles from Denver, more than an hour away. Loveland Pass is at 12k feet. It gets 400+ inches of snow each year. I hope you researched that before endangering people on the road. I’d love to have a long conversation about how those areas are completely different and should be treated differently.

The gangs aren’t a natural disaster. They are a disaster fueled by horrible policy, and a failure to prosecute criminals. Denver has created that issue with bad policy, it has absolutely nothing to do with natural weather.
Most Americans would assign an area 60 miles from Denver as Denver. What research should have we done ? We flew into Denver, rented a vehicle with snow tires and ski racks and headed for Steamboat. Car broke down before the tunnel, before cell phones. Passing snow plow stopped to help, radioed Hertz. They started another car for us and tow truck.

Mary Anne had to go # 1 after an hour. She left car, walked towards nearby tree, sank into snow in ditch 6 feet deep !
Even in Syracuse 6 feet of snow is a lot !

Aside from this being another in a long line of stupid posts by you, at least Lalo Alcaraz got his skin tone correct- and that’s all that matters to you and your ilk…

RE: Eaton fire. This video shows what probably was the start of the fire in the Altadena/Pasadena area where the homes are built right up to the "mountain". It shows a fire under an electric transmission tower. Although they immediately called 911, by the time the fire dept got there it already was spreading down the canyon heading toward the homes. Altadena/Pasadena is not like Palisades, it is smaller homes, closer together, built in the 1950's(or earlier), and very flammable. In terms of structures, the Eaton fire was particularly devastating. Notice how strong the wind is in this video.

The Stonedax with the usual "informed take" 😜

IDF Reserve Brig. Gen. Amir Avivi says "two things" changed regarding the Israel-Hamas cease-fire agreement after fifteen months of conflict in the Middle East.

"This deal has been on the table since May last year and Hamas opposed it completely. Why? There was no real pressure on Hamas," Avivi told "Your World" on Wednesday. "Israel wanted to stop some of the humanitarian aid, especially some of the gasoline, but the administration wouldn't let us do that. So Israel has no major leverage on them."

"What's changed is two things," Avivi told Fox News. "One, Israel defeated Hezbollah and Hezbollah cannot support Hamas anymore. Also, Syria fell. Iran is weaker. But the big change is President Trump's threat."

Once President Trump threatened them, that if they don't release hostages, there will be hell… I think they understand that if they don't get a deal now, the chances of getting a good deal for them will be very, very low, if at all. And therefore, they made their own assessment, and they are inclined to do the deal, thinking that they'll maximize what they can get now and not wait to see what 'hell' means," Avivi stated.
Too bad it was Netanyahu and his RW govt. that failed to accept the deal since May, not Hamas.

No one, and I mean no one, thinks Loveland Pass is part of Denver. That’s insane, it’s like another planet. Estes Park is not part of Denver. Colorado Springs is not part of Denver. Fort Collins is not part of Denver. They are all about the same distance as Loveland Pass. There is an almost 7k elevation change between Denver and Loveland Pass. This was quite the stretch.

Going to Steamboat is always an adventure during the winter. Rabbit Ears Pass is known as one of the most beautiful drives in the state/country, but also one of the most dangerous during the winter. Again, that area is absolutely nothing like Denver.

This is actually a wonderful example of how we have to look at these places differently, even though they are close on the map. The risk/insurance factors are completely different.

I believe it was nothing more than speculation Hamas was going to accept a deal last May and has been seen, they’ve been reluctant all along to make a deal. It was afterwards that Israel pulled the offer and demanded more. The overall consensus is Hamas became more motivated to make a deal as they kept losing on the ground and then with Sinwar out of the way.

This is so true. Leftists don’t understand what they vote for and support is bad until it impacts them personally in a negative way. Warning: Estee has a potty mouth.

He said every place in the country had the same issues. He equated Denver and its gang/snow issues (we don’t have snow issues) with California and Florida dealing with storms off the ocean. That’s silly, different parts of the country have different national disaster risks. We should talk about that and plan accordingly.
Local municipalities AND States DO plan for emergencies, natural and man made !

California doesn't...

The IDF has taken control of the region, by NOT following the Brandon directives.

Hamas is now dealing, not wanting to have "HELL" shown them by Trump.

Some are better than others, no doubt. Colorado gets pretty caught up in some similar stuff. Really worried about equity, really worried about rare wildlife (mountain toads, black footed ferrets, wolverine, lynx, wolves, etc.)

There are a lot of decisions here that remind me of California. On the local news last night, they talked about how the home insurance issues are coming here too. Always fire and hail damage, and the insurance companies have to charge more. Some are expected to leave the state.

I just want people to think big picture. We are 1 disaster away from similar issues in other parts of the country.

There are many reasons why Trump is talking about Greenland. A huge one is the amount of freshwater and natural resources. I'm glad he is looking at managing Southern California in a better way. I hope they are looking at other areas where insurance carriers are pulling out and making sure we are best prepared in those areas.

I think DeSantis has done a wonderful job in Florida. I've been a big supporter of him, and that is a big reason why. We need more DeSantis in this country, less Newsom. Hopefully this is a wakeup call.
He isn't talking about Greenland as a landing spot for displaced Callie homeless. Callie has TRILLIONS of fresh water available for it's use, just store it for use !

This is NOTHING new, the US has attempted to gain control for well OVER 100 years !

My BIL was USAF in 50-60's and had a overseas tour scheduled with 2 choices. Choice # 1 Greenland with no family authorized ! # 2. Bermuda, with family authorized ! He choose Bermuda and brought my Sister. He extended his tour to 4 years. Learned how to become a scratch golfer. Southeast Asia tour, he became Officer's driving range instructor, when General found out he was scratch !

RDS does what he feels is best for Florida, regardless what a screaming minority ! DeScum follows the screaming minority.

They don’t care when corporations get robbed every day and have to move/close because of all the crime.

Maybe this will finally be their wake up call that allowing people to steal (even small amounts) leads to some really bad behavior.

Nice way to reduce hail damage: Car Ports with metal roofs.

The dumbest thing about this argument against red states putting in less, they also take less with sound policy. Stating truths about bad policies is not playing politics. John Stewart is a wanker. Always has been.

I’ve been lucky so far. No exaggeration, probably 75% of the houses in my neighborhood have gotten new roofs in the last couple years. We get hail multiple times each year.

I’m always cautious of the roof guys walking the neighborhood after a storm. No doubt that some of them get on your roof and create some damage. They know the insurance companies will pay. Well, this year every insurance company in Colorado raised roof deductibles to $7k. Now people are back to hoping they don’t have damage. Before they were pretty happy paying $2k for a new roof.

Bondi owned this fool. Look at the dumb questions he asks. She answered correctly. Schiff for brains tries to get her to say things about stuff she may have an idea about, but lacks evidence, so she rightfully answers only what she can speak to. She says she will follow the law. He only speaks about J6. She answered in truth and how she will always operate, but he tried to narrow to J6 only. Oh and will you destroy evidence? LOL. Like the J6 committee? You don’t have to wonder why California is completely mismanaged. Just look at the idiots who are elected. The Senators from Illinois aren’t anything to write home about either. Only dipsticks think people like Schiff are good reps and can fix things.

Indiana Republicans look to add counties from Illinois. It will never happen. The Dems are too far gone in Illinois and hold the rest of the state captive. They would lose influence by losing census/House seats. This is just wishful thinking.

See the post above that states that it was Trump's sway over Netanyahu that made deal work. MAGA has to get story straight. Was it the threat of all Hell to Hamas or sway over Netanyahu?

Good to see Republicans don't have anything more important to deal with except these games.

People like Stewart are talkijg out of both sides of their mouth. Until this disaster, it was all about "the rich should pay their fair (high) share". Now it's all about "we deserve to get our money back".

Trump doesn’t like Netanyahu . My guess is a bit of both. He probably forced both sides to make a deal.

Trump brings both the carrot and the stick to negotiations. I am not sure how you cannot see that.
