I mentioned Mad Dog and his Wifes kids last month ; we had X-Mass dinner at their house the 4 kids are doing well:
# 1 the ex-USMC is a Junior at a UNC college in civil engineering, grade in Statistics bedeviled him and he got a 3.7 for his lowest grade. (Life is good since he found a girlfriend in his major !), His employer askes him to come in ANY day for jobs and pay !
# 2 brought her GPA up to 3.75 from 3.70. Soph at a Carolina.
# 3 is starting to over a dozen college acceptances, which she rates by how much money they award her, 4.2 GPA in almost all AP Courses. 1,500 SAT.
# 4, is highest Honor Roll at his High School, nothing but A's. He's a Math Savant.
Wrestling season has started ! Sophomore with 9 matches to date, 8 - 1 W-L, 7 Pins (6 in first period !), 1 TF, and 1 loss decision at 2-5. @ 157 up from 150 as a frosh.

All 4 have part time jobs. Ask and Demand excellence of your kids !

The GOP had no problem talking about how broken our education system is. How DEI was destroying companies and that we need merit based hiring. Complained about how schools were dropping AP and honors courses in the name of equity.

Then a dark skinned Republican said that people from India like hiring other people from India because they believe in excellence, and not the crazy bullshit we push here (that the GOP constantly and rightfully bitches about), and those same people are very upset. Still #1 after Green Bay won the first 2 Super Bowls. #1 while Paul “Bear” Bryant was ruling college football. #1 when John Wooden was coaching UCLA basketball. #1 when Jim Brown was the unquestionable all-time leading rusher in the NFL. Meritocracy. There were no BS everybody can play on travel teams. Meritocracy. Jewish people as a whole value education. That never stopped the truly athletic Jewish kids from being great on the field. Vivek just repeated a stereotype of “white” people. Frankly, it was lazy. I still like him. In the grand scheme of things all of this Vivek conversation is a temporary distraction for the people who are actually signing things for Joe Biden to do more damage on their way out the door.

BTW, I live in a very diverse community with many of those “dark-skinned” people, including a family 2 houses down from me and several more in my very small/easily controlled traffic flow neighborhood. Add in a few very successful Black families and several foreign families from well south of our US border with children born in the US. All very nice families. You sound like a Democrat. How do I sound like a Democrat? Vivek told everyone what Indian CEOs obviously think. Pretty hilarious that people are offended about something that if they took one minute to think about his overall message, the response would be “ya, that’s probably true.” But a lot of people have been programmed to be offended.

We have all complained about a declining America. I’m supposed to act like all of the things we have complained about don’t exist because Trump won? GMAFB.

Homelessness is up 18% YoY in America. Men are playing women’s sports and joining sororities. We brag about crime being down while people are burning to death and getting stabbed in the subways. We have a welfare society where a significant % of ther population do not produce anything of value. If you think things are fantastic, I don’t know what to tell you.

If you guys really want change, you have to be willing to engage in uncomfortable conversations and have to be willing to accept uncomfortable truths. Indian people are more likely to hire Indian people, and an Indian CEO told you why. Instead of dismissing it, you should probably listen.

There are exceptional parents. I’m sure @tjfleck6, @Uncoach belong to that group. I’m sure they have pushed their kids hard, and that’s a major reason why their kids will be successful. I highlighted my parents this week as a main reason I’ve found success.

The average American parent is not pushing their kids to be successful through struggles. Heck, a significant % of Americans don’t even have 2 parents in the home pushing them. Another thing the GOP has complained about for a long time. We all know that we have a society that puts up with mediocrity or worse. It shouldn’t be so offensive to hear it.

This should be a time of acknowledgement, and we need to look at our education system, welfare system, immigration system, and improve. We can’t improve if we implode the minute someone says something that makes us uncomfortable.

These conversations are great. We shouldn’t reject them, and we certainly shouldn’t dismiss the thoughts of someone who has found as much success as Vivek.
