..and in other news

Stick to one topic, two are "Stone-lite" !
Just finished the 36 page response to the IG report, which went over every incorrect part of the IG report.

What I can tell is that showed the ineffectiveness of the Army AND the DCNG ON JAN 6 th, AFTER their authorization by Trump.

All the Army were CYA and all had different recollections,

Nothing that changed what I have posted for months.

This is interesting and sad. This Dem is complaining that identity politics didn't get Latinos to be sheep and vote Dem. Everyone else is a racist but her. She is one of the 215 Dems in the House....

Never gone. Economy is stronger now, unemployment lower GDP all higher than Trump's economy.
You are such a hack.

1) Softbank SPECIFICALLY is investing $100B in the USA because TRUMP is in office.
2) No doubt Trump is great. We agree. However, Biden WINS a second term IF the economy was working for the people, not just the rich. Record inflation, overstated employment, and the southern invasion all allowed Donald J. Trump to become the first Republican to win the popular vote since 2004.

It's the economy, Stone.

Do you like what I did there?

Just a reminder that the President asked these people to surge our borders. 14 people, anyone want to bet they are gang affiliated?
It’s crazy how that entire area is brand new…. A brand new city. Brand new strip malls, gas stations, homes, apartments, grocery stores…
That many US citizens moving to Aurora? 🤔

Seems like the US government made a terrible miscalculation to open the border for potential votes. Our new administration can’t get in office soon enough…

Article 2, Clause 2 of the US Constitution:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
So they're going to introduce legislation to abolish the US Constitution. That won't go too far, IMHO.

They probably thought they were coming here to do low paying jobs. But why would they do that when they can just assault, rob, and kill?

Seeing a lot of small businesses close. They all say the same thing….minimum wage hike, crime, and homelessness are pushing them out of the city.

Just a reminder, the only reason this situation will improve beginning January 20, 2025 is thanks to the guy you were unable to vote for last month.

Colorado, Utah, North Dakota and on and on. Amazing that you have young kids and were unable to vote for a better future for them despite your TDS.

OMG! Actually they are called Amendments, look them up, there are 27 already.
Stone - you are correct. Now, these 3 Democrats are complete morons, but average representatives of the party.

Sens. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii,) Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Peter Welch (D-Vt.), three leading progressive Senate voices, say it’s time to “restore democracy” by allowing for the direct election of presidents through the popular vote alone.

The senators are troubled that the Electoral College has twice elected a candidate who didn’t win the popular vote in the past 19 years. In both those instances, a Republican captured the White House — George W. Bush in the 2000 election and Trump in the 2016 election.

“In an election, the person who gets the most votes should win. It’s that simple,” Schatz said. “No one’s vote should count for more based on where they live. The Electoral College is outdated and it’s undemocratic. It’s time to end it.”

Yes, the Electoral College is undemocratic for a reason - because we are a Republic. Amazing that complete morons from Hawaii and Vermont want to completely marginalize their own states. Even the idiot from Illinois is trying to marginalize his declining state as it bleeds electoral votes and population.

The Founding Fathers were very aware (painfully) of what a tyranny of the majority can do. Supposedly it was the #1 reason they thought a direct election of the President and VP was not in our national interest.

Ok. I would never have guessed that we would be sitting here witnessing a human being who is actually dumber than a box of rocks. Alas…here we are….
I’ve seen plenty of fundamentally idiotic takes on this board but this might just take the cake.
Again another nick name : Friends Son, was mentally challenged with not much "common sense", nickname = "Box of Rocks" !

He worked in the summer months as a crew man on Party Boats going out for a day of blue fishing.

I voted red up and down the ballot. 🤷‍♂️
Not at the top where it matters. You watch, down the ballot "Red" will pass this awful CR before Christmas. They are spineless without the enforcer at the top. They have signed off on Biden's massive deficit spending since they "won" the House 2 years ago.

It has nothing to do with being a Republic. Almost all democratic countries are Republics. We are the only country that does not have our Presidential election settled by the most votes. It had to do with slavery.

It has everything to do with being a Republic! These moronic senators from tiny states (HI & VT) are willing to cede power to the bigger states? I have zero patience for short-sighted, politically driven, partisan hacks who just are not very bright. Giving up your only real power for a pat on the back from New York's Chuck Schumer? Totally corrupt. They ought to push an amendment to make the Senate representative of the country, too, thereby eliminating seats from Hawaii and Vermont.

All other countries are inferior to the USA as evidenced by the fact that this backwater, young country now dominates the world thanks exclusively to its CONSTITUTION!

No, it was slavery.
Not so. Slavery was a secondary issue where a compromise was made to determine the relative voting power of states. If you look into the notes kept at the time by the Continental Congress, it's clear their objective was to create a nation where broad geographic appeal of presidential candidates was necessary. They didn't want populous city-slickers dictating to the broader nation.

WOW, you are bouncing off the walls. What do Senators have to do with what we discussed. a Republic or an electoral college?

Read again. Slave states were given 3/5 of a vote for each slave. Of course the slaves didn't vote, there were no actual votes from the slaves to count. So they gave the voting power to the state as a whole (electoral college) rather than giving each person a vote. Giving power to small states is a more modern justification used. To the contrary, why do you think the great number of our original Presidents came from Virginia? It was the most populated state with the greatest number of slaves. Therefore, it had the greatest weight in the electoral college. Heck with the small states.

Before John Tyler, only three of eight presidents came from Virginia. I'm not including Washington as he was unanimously elected and the leader of the country before the constitution was adopted.

But your argument of small states only recently having voting power is absolutely false. From day one until now, each state, no matter how small, was given two votes (correspending other the number of senators) plus one for each House member.

Senate and House have nothing to do with electoral college for President. I would agree with the Senate was to equalize power regardless of size of states. EC only applies to Presidential race and was a compromise because Founding Fathers couldn't agree, and needed to get Southern states (slave states) to ratify. 4 out of the first 5 Presidents came from Virginia, that is 31 years of the first 35 years of the Country. Some did believe most people too ignorant to elect President. Some would still agree.
