With all that's going on, I'll post updates here as more news breaks.
* OL Darta Lee was still on campus last I checked. There's a good chance he also pops today (Sunday).
* LB Tim Walton is visiting Syracuse today. All is quiet right now. We'll see. Taking Christion Abercrombie could be a tell-tail sign, but I think Abercrombie is a WILL and Walton a Mike.
* DB Stanley Green is at New Mexico, but I'm told Illinois talked to him today and still feel pretty good about him.
* DL Antonio Shelton visited Rutgers this weekend, Penn State next. Still committed coming off the Rutgers visit. Signing day final decision.
* With Todd Monken out at Southern Miss, Illinois feels good about DE KaDerrion Mason. They have been on him a long time. He's scheduled to visit next weekend.
* WR Evan Fairs is a signing day decision between Illinois and Kansas. Illini would like to lock him up sooner.
* WR MJ McGriff will visit next weekend. I actually like him as an all-purpose RB. He's a heavy Illinois lean if they decide to take him.
* Signing day decision for OL Trevour Simms between Illinois and Mizzou. He isn't talking to anyone since the flip-flopping. East St. Louis coaches keeping a tight lid on it.
* I haven't heard any buzz on former Michigan commit Erik Swenson. I'll keep trying to find out what's happening with that one.
* DB Juwuane Parchman still looks like a sign-and-place guy right now.
* Cincinnati Mt Healty RB David Montgomery could also visit next weekend. He has Illinois and Iowa State on his list.
* Will all of the action around CFB this close to signing day, I think it's apparent the old regime of Beckman / Golesh took some marginal kids too early. Those types can be had late.
* RB Sam Brodner committed to Wisconsin today. Great fit there. He wanted to play in a power running scheme.
* Cubit's two year deal has to be dealt with by the new AD if he's smart and knows something about recruiting. They can't have the handcuffs on when 2017 recruiting heats up.
