A lot of information coming in from a weekend of activity.
Illinois is a "real option" for Orlando Antigua, per Kentucky sources. He wants to meet with new coach Mark Pope, though. Definitely not a done deal. Just possible. They're still talking to other coaches. I think Antigua would probably rather have remained at Kentucky under Pope. Lots of money involved.
The initial plan for Calipari at Arkansas was to bring in Antigua, Chin Coleman and Chuck Martin, with Bruiser Flint listed as a special assistant and Brad Calipari in a player development role. Kenny Payne could be in those plans, though. Arkansas contacts haven't heard anything of substance yet.
You have to wonder if Illinois is 100% sold on Carey Booth. He needs to get a lot stronger. For his part, Booth wants to go where he knows he will start. I'm sticking with my Illinois prediction for now, but going closer to his dad at Colorado State is a real possibility. Decision likely coming soon. If he doesn't commit by Wednesday or so and schedules other visits, obviously it takes a different turn, and that's still possible.
Dante Maddox Jr. is on campus in Champaign today. After some internal debate, Illinois will put on a full court press for him. Illinois, Louisville, or Xavier. They are selling him on being a focal point in the offense in the same backcourt with Boswell. As of today, Maddox still plans to visit Xavier this week.
I suppose Chester Frazer departing might have been the final thing that tipped it, but Sencire Harris has been considering transferring since last fall when he announced he was redshirting.
Amani Hansberry hasn't yet decided what he's going to do.
