Question for Indianola

Indianola, great to see your post in the Antwon Hayden thread. Maybe Sanders will finally be the guy who lifts Colorado off the bottom of the P5 football world.
I was going to reply to your post there but realized it's too far off topic so decided to ask here and hope you see this. Occassionally I wonder where Illinois athletics would be today if Craig Tiley had been hired instead of Mike Thomas as AD. I certainly don't know if Illinois asked Tiley and if they did, if there was any hope he could have been persuaded to come back the Champaign-Urbana. What I do know, anecdotally, is he was the coach on staff that the others such as Turner, Weber, and maybe even Self looked to for guidance and wisdom. I imagine he had a good relationship with Henson in his final years, too.
So why this post? I'm convinced you're the one person here who can respond with anything more than a wild guess on whether Tiley was approached and where we'd be today if he was named AD. Thanks!
