The new year 2025 will unfold in ways no one can predict. The USA is in for big changes, and much of the rest of the world is chaotic and dangerous. This is not a time to be immersed with gadgets.

If you follow the No Spin News, you know that I am pretty good at predicting political outcomes. Only missed one in 2024, the precise time President Biden bailed out. I called his demise months in advance but was a week or so off on the actual announcement because Jill Biden stepped in. She lost her venal quest but threw off the timeline.

This year, I expect President Trump to fulfill many of his campaign vows, and that will lead to a stronger economy and a more stable environment. But overseas is a tough situation. Putin, Xi, and the Mullahs are evil people who do not care about human rights. It will take courage and skill to deal with their destructive agendas.

American voters made the right decision rejecting Kamala Harris and the progressive movement. Far-left governance in California, New York, Chicago, and other places is horrifying. These progressive loons are flat-out dangerous. Just the Biden/Harris open border alone is a vivid catastrophe that will haunt this country for years.

As for you who are reading this message right now - be cautious this year. It will take time to define the new Trump administration and how it will affect your life. Invest cautiously, spend moderately, be alert in public. The Biden term caused a tremendous amount of social damage. Protect yourself and your family foremost.

My hope is that traditional beliefs and self-reliance will make a big comeback in 2025. But I can't predict it. We are now a nation dependent on technology and diverted by foolish pursuits. Fewer Americans are really paying attention to what is necessary in order to prosper.

But we the people did pay attention to the big one, the presidential election. We literally saved ourselves. Now, we have a shot at building a strong, just country.

Witherspoon Headed to Second Straight Pro Bowl

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Former Illini All-American Devon Witherspoon earned his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection, the NFL announced Thursday. Witherspoon is the first player since Dick Butkus to finish his Illini career then earn a spot in the Pro Bowl during his first two seasons in the NFL.

Witherspoon has 90 tackles, six tackles for loss, one sack, and seven passes defended on the season.

"He plays with his hair on fire," said Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald during the season. "You talk about shocking effort, and if you want to shock people, watch 21 play. We talk about ball finding energy, and it kind of all comes together with Spoon. People want production and they want to be certain type of players, but if you don't do it every day, I don't see how you could have a reasonable expectation to be a great player. This guy brings it every single day, and does it every rep, and that's why he's a great player."

Witherspoon joined Dick Butkus (1965-66, Chicago Bears) as former Illini to make the Pro Bowl during their first two seasons immediately following their careers in Champaign. Former Illini Bob Trumpy also made the Pro Bowl in his first two seasons (1968-69, Cincinnati Bengals) but he finished his college career at Utah after transferring from Illinois.

Witherspoon is the first Illini to make back-to-back Pro Bowls since CB Vontae Davis for the Indianapolis Colts from 2014-15.

Illinois has three Pro Bowl alternates that could get in the event: Chase McLaughlin, K, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1st alternate); Kerby Joseph, S, Detroit Lions (2nd alternate); and Chase Brown, RB, Cincinnati Bengals (3rd alternate). Joseph is the NFL's leader in interceptions with nine, two more than any other player.

The Seahawks' official release is here.
