Hi all…got a chance to catch the second half of the Xavier-Missouri game tonight (well, most of the second half). It was a bit nip and tuck and then Xavier gradually pulled away…got up as much as 15, won by I think 12.
We obviously have our share of improving to do, but I had a hard time gauging Missouri. Maybe because of so many newcomers. They seemed to play very hard (it *seemed* they got a lot of 50/50 balls even though Xavier won the battle of the boards fairly easily). And they looked to have a couple guards that could penetrate.
Did not see anything of note in the middle. And they had a kid No. 33 (I am guessing he is a frosh) that nailed at least 3 treys in the second half (not sure about the first half). Without him, X wins by 20. Looking ahead, we might want to check him =). Anyway, I know this analysis sucks, but just wanted to throw a bit out there on a future foe (besides the fact I am juvenile about it, lol).
Go Illini!
