He's just young and thin and adapting to the college game. Riley shot an impossible percentage from 3 in our first few games and basically scored at will against the cupcake teams. Now he's being scouted and guarded by physically mature major conference athletes and he's going through a phase where he's learning what works and what doesn't.

I see a positive attitude with Riley. He's not a diva. I think the Adam Miller comparison lingers but I'm actually looking for a Malcolm Hill style February breakout. Riley has point forward skills and isn't playing like a shooting guard and just standing around missing 3's. He's trying to figure out what he can do with the ball in his hands, where he can get on the floor, and what shots he can get off. He's got so many different tools in his bag that it's hard to know what works and what doesn't at this level.

The reason I think he's breaking out is because Underwood could have started DGL or Morez and he didn't. Furthermore, guys who are fading don't manage 6 assists and only one turnover (along with 6 rebounds) while also showing growth on defense. The floor game is there. He's learning and improving, not just standing in the corner. Once he gets a little more comfortable and relaxes, the 3's will start falling again.

Once the Will Riley shots start falling, Boswell figures out layups, and the KJ turnovers start to vanish, it's game over for the Big Ten.
