Isaiah Williams will be the starting quarterback for the Illini this season. Maybe not game 1, but he will be out there at some point. There, I said it. Food for thought on this holiday weekend.
A couple of other quick notes....
To me, Khalan Tolson looks like a starter over Jake Hansen at the WILL linebacker.
People have asked about Julian Pearl. I'll be surprised if he's ever a starter at Illinois. He just doesn't carry the extra weight well..
Everyone is talking about Luke Ford, and they should. He's good. But don't sleep on Daniel Barker. He has quicker feet than Ford and is a more polished route runner at this point. Ford is faster and more physical. Nice pair of tight ends.
None of the backup running backs are the complete package. They all have something that they're okay at. Reggie Love will start day 1 in 2020.
Trevan Sidney and Dejan Brissett better be good. No idea if they will be until we see them in camp. If they can't get it done, then its definitely Marquez Beason at WR.
I'll have a 3-2-1 on spring ball tonight, then the mailbag tomorrow.
