It seems to me that the only logical way forward for the UI is the following:
1. Appoint a Chancellor.
2. Have that Chancellor hire an AD.
3. Decide on football and basketball coaches.
This will mean retaining Cubit on an extended interim basis (2 to 3 years), which may not be in the long-term best interests of the program. And, it may give Groce a reprieve even if he misses his 3rd straight NCAA tournament.
But, it is the right sequence of decisions, and gives the UI the opportunity to make thoughtful, rather than rushed decisions.
