i saw in trib that Highland Park has scrapped its tackle football program for youths. Also talking with some of my friends who coach high school football - said the turnout football in the younger classes is declining alarmingly fast.
25,000 less estimated participants in HS football from 2015 to 2016
Begs the question does football die out quick? Does that mean 10 years? 20 years? It's apparent the peak football participating/popularity may be behind us.
Relatedly- Is investing a ton of $$$ in facilities and the football program prudent long-term?
