So, I'm sorry for starting a new thread, but I don't want this information to get lost. A lot of talk about Illinois' facilities lately on here. As a devoted fan of the separate building over South End Zone renovation plan, I'm happy. But I sat down last night and did some research on this new facility Illinois plans to build. And understanding that Illinois might be starting at a much worse place than some of these other schools and that the cost of doing business in Illinois may be higher, here's how we would compare with other recent football only facilities:

$79 million - Illinois
$68 million - Oregon (Pac 12 - 2013 - Reported. Could have cost as much as $96 million)
$65 million - Purdue (B1G - 2017)
$65 million - Kansas State (Big 12 - 2015 - included partial football stadium renovation)
$55 million - Clemson (ACC - 2016)
$55 million - Iowa (B1G - 2015)
$50 million - South Carolina (SEC - 2018 expected)
$45 million - Tennessee (SEC - 2014)
$45 million - Kentucky (SEC - 2016)
$40 million - Arkansas (SEC - 2012)
$40 million - Georgia (SEC - 2011 Renovation)
$30 million - Ole Miss (SEC - 2004 & 2014 Renovation Combined Cost)
$30 million - Michigan State (B1G - 2008)
$28 million - Florida (SEC - 2008)
$26 million - NC State (ACC - 2003)
$25 million - Mississippi State (SEC - 2013)
$22 million - Duke (ACC - 2002)

Other big projects at schools like Colorado and Minnesota are harder to quantify because of their scope. They were building basically athletic complexes alongside any football improvements.

That makes me so, so, so happy.
