is not playing in the College Playoffs, and it is not Ohio State. I am biased but the team that manhandled Georgia and Alabama two weeks apart is the best team in college football. Auburn has lost three games this year. The first was to Clemson on the road, the No 1 ranked team in the country. I believe the score was 14-6. Each team had two scoring drives, Clemson scored touchdowns, Auburn field goals. But Auburn played without it’s No 1 tailback, Kerryon Johnson, who was injured. The started a new QB who had a QB ranking of less than 10 and also was sacked 10 times. With KJ and their current QB, they would kill Clemson.

The second was to LSU. auburn was up 20-0 to start the game and was destroying LSU. When Auburn’s head coach took away play calling from the OC and played not to lose. Then everything went wrong, and they lost. That loss was a coaching loss not a team loss.

The third loss was to Georgia a team they man handled less than a month earlier. You could say that Georgia man handled them the second game though. Actually the first half was a push whereas the second half was an Auburn meltdown. What happened. Give Georgia credit they played much better the second time. However, KJ was hurt. Auburn’s offense was hamstrung without their bell cow. Nonetheless, they were only down 10-7 at half. Then in the second half hey played without their top LB, their top DB, and most of it without their top DL. Even still they were still in the game until KJ fumbled, a fumble caused by his injury not by defense.

Auburn went 2-2 against the final four. They killed virtually ever SEC team they played. When they were at full strength, they were virtually unbeatable, and they are better than the three finalists they have played. The only team I can’t comment on is Oklahoma, other than Auburn played them in Sugar Bowl at the end of last year. Auburn played most of that game with a QB with a broken arm. I just think as good as Oklahoma’s offense is, there defense is not.
