He never misses an opportunity to kick Illini sports (yes we've historically down in Football and hoops) to the curb. He's a Wisconsin alum. His attempt at sarcastic humor hit a new low and a raw nerve for me in his Sun Times column today:
• A big announcement from the universities of Illinois and Nebraska that they’ll open the 2021 football season with a game at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Which reminds me of one of my favorite limericks:
There was a league called the Big Ten,
That failed to send its best to Dublin.
Instead, Illinois,
The Big Ten did deploy,
To Lose Forty-Four to Eleven.
Below is the email response I sent to him:
There was once was a hack and a schlub,
Who practiced his gluttony at Udub,
His bullying ways would make all dwarfs pay, For fighting fair fights means knowing fair play,
Orange we glad that life’s circle is round, So that every Bozo will soon be a clown.
