What You Need To Know: Illini Football Spring GameFans can watch Lovie Smith's squad April 13 at Memorial Stadium

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Head coach Lovie Smith's squad will host its annual Orange and Blue Spring Game at Memorial Stadium this Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m. The scrimmage is expected to start at about 2:45 p.m. Admission and parking are free. It will be the last opportunity until training camp in August to get a look at the 2019 Fighting Illini.

Here's what you need to know…

Spring Game Timeline | Saturday, April 13
9 am – Illini Athletics/Gameday Spirit merchandise sale (Great West Hall, enter Gate 10)
10 am – Grange Grove opens for fans
Noon – Family Fun Fest starts in Grange Grove (Fun Fest map)
2 pm – Practice begins (Memorial Stadium)
2:00 » Walk-through
2:20 » Break
2:24 » Stretch
2:34 » Individual/Position Warm-Ups
2:45 » Controlled scrimmage begins (Four 12-minute quarters)
Approx. 4 pm – Scrimmage ends. Team & Coach Smith sign autographs on field (45 mins)

Spring Game Format
» Four 12-minute quarters, normal clock, with a 10-minute halftime.
» Team Grange = 1st-team offense & 2nd-team defense
» Team Butkus = 2nd-team offense & 1st-team defense
» Uniforms: Offense in BLUE, defense in ORANGE, 1st-team QBs in WHITE
» 1st-team offense vs. 1st-team defense = thud (no live tackling)
» 2nd-team offense vs. 2nd-team defense = live (full tackling)
» Kicking Rules:
• No kickoffs or kick returns
• Punts – no rush or returns
• Field Goals – no rush
• PATs will be kicked – no rush
