A pretty sobering round-up of the careers of the 2007 five-star recruits. 10 of the top 20 and 61 of the top 100 weren't drafted. Injuries appear to be a common reason.
Just as a sample I looked at the offensive linemen, of which there were 12 in the top 100. Of those, only 3--none of them ranked in the top 5 OL that year--were drafted. 4 suffered significant injuries in college; a fifth who was drafted in the first round retired after just five years because of injuries.
On the plus side, a majority of the guys who didn't make it seem to be having productive non-football careers.
