It just seems that we really struggle to develop good large frame guys like Niang and even Nader. Guys who have the ability to power through and finish. In other words, grown men. I think the lack of development and winning is going to hurt Groce and recruiting. Spoke to a good friend last night who is also close with the family of a highly ranked recruit from Champaign. Said "no way the kids goes to Illinois, it's Duke or Kansas." Family obviously loves Illinois, but no way that you put your kids future in the hands of a consistently underperforming program with a consistently underperforming coach and staff.
