Not officially released by the school yet, but it sounds like former standout Illini CB Terry Hawthorne will be hired as an assistant defensive backs coach.
Hawthorne was the cornerbacks coach at SIU-C from 2022-24. He was director of high school personnel & alumni relations at Illinois in 2021, then was a staffer at Arkansas until being hired by the Salukis.
Former high school All-American at East St. Louis and one of the top recruits in Illinois history.
So, with Hawthorne likely coming back, the Flyers have 6 prospects on campus for visits for Monday's spring practice.
