I know it's been out for almost a week, so I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimal level (though if you haven't seen it and you don't want any spoilers at all - move along).
Thought it was a pretty good movie, probably 3.25 out of 4.

Thought it was a pretty good movie, probably 3.25 out of 4.
Liked:
- Really liked the new characters (ex-Stormtrooper, new bad ass gal, and X-wing pilot). Less enthused with the new baddie (too pretty).
- Loved the gritty feel of minimal digital characters and backdrops.
- High energy of the cast. Looked like they were engaged and enjoying themselves. Sometimes prequels looked a little bit like actors "mailed in" their performances (probably symptom of acting in front of a green screen).
- Characters sounded like real people instead of having Lucas written lines, "I remember back on Naboo..."
Three frustrations:
- They "Anakin-ized" the villain. He started off good but then ended up to be, well, a crybaby. Better have a better reason for rejecting Jedi-hood other than "grandpa mean".
- Luke must not be a great trainer of Jedi/the force. The prize pupil gets butt kicked by someone who when the day began didn't know what a lightsaber looked like or how to turn it on. New butt kicker might put add on Galactic Craig's list for force trainer wanted.
- A third planet killing version of a "Death Star"? Really ?!? Could've used Dreadnoughts from Dark Empire. Could've picked up Thrawn from the Heir to the Empire. Anything but another planet killing space station/whatever that has a weak spot to blow it up.
- How did Gollum get to SW universe and how big was his holo-projector?
