Maybe its just me, but the talent levels of NCAA basketball just seem to drop as a whole every single year. I'm not sure it's indiviudal talent that is dropping, but talent as a team just keeps getting worse. And this years Elite 8 and now final 4 was a prime example of what elite (pun intended) coaching does for a team.
Elite 8 coaches:
Duke- Coach K.(elite)
UK- Coach Cal (elite)
L'ville- Rick Pitino (elite)
MSU- Tom Izzo (elite)
Wisconsin- Bo Ryan (elite)
Arizona- Sean Miller (Very good)
Gonzaga- Mark Few (Very good)
Notre Dame- Mike Brey (Above average to very good)- has improved so much as a coach.
Final 4:
Izzo, Coach K, Cal, and Bo Ryan are all ELITE coaches at the college level.. if not the 4 absolute best in the country.
Coaching trumps talent any day in college basketball.
