When I told him I hadn't seen that move since a guy by the name of
Michael Jordan back in May of 1991 - before LoVett was born - in the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, LoVett started cracking up.
"I practiced that move a little bit," he said. "In my head, when I'm going
to the basket, I'm saying maybe I'll try this. I try to get the crowd
roaring. Try to do something shocking. Make them star-struck."
LoVett played it coy as to when he'll decide on a college, though St. John's,
Kansas, Pitt and, yes, Illinois are in hot pursuit. First he must take
the ACT in April.
"It's hard to say," LoVett said when asked of when he'll make a decision. "I'm just blessed to have these opportunities."
Irvin suggested that the recruiting process will become more clear once LoVett takes the ACT.
"He's taking classes to prepare for the ACT," Irvin said. "We'll see what
happens. But if I'm Illinois, I'm not letting Marcus get out of
Illinois."
