After having lunch with an AD that wanted to offer him the job but was already fired, in a SNAFU moment at Rocky Topless, Leach has come out on top.
Leach has agreed to a new contract at WSU. He has been extended thru 2022 at approx, $4,000,000 per year. (averaging in a 3/4 $ mill retention bonus). An indoor facility is now a priority and an additional $ 400,000 is now in a pool for better salaries for the Assistant Coaches.
The University President also acknowledged that Intercollegiate Athletes (spelled "football') is an integral part of getting the message out about the University and the positives that the University as a whole has experienced since Leach arrived.
