Not unexpected at all, but this is the reality for the non-elite:
Free website interview with (in this case) a very young top combo guard from LA (Jules Bernard, class of 2018):
"Q: In terms of recruitment, do you have any college that is a dream school for you? Or a school you would feel honored by if they were to offer you in the future?
JB: Most likely one of the top-tier ACC schools like Duke, Louisville, and UNC. Or Kansas from the Big 12."
(And that didn't include Kentucky, which is the goal for almost every top tier recruit)
When we get someone from the top group, it is a huge fluke. That's simply the reality.
