Helluva year

First, Ann Selzer isn't still polling, she retired after 2024 (and was most accurate in 2016 and 2020 with polls more favorable to Trump than others). Second, I believe she had Kamala up 3%.

Which was obviously wrong.

All the current polling showing Trump approval collapse could be wrong. I would think the right would hope those numbers are different come 2026 tho.
Do you know what humor is? It’s why I posted it. It was sarcastic. Didn’t need a reference specifically to Selzer, who I already know retired. But now that we are here…She’s one of many pollsters who got things wrong. I don’t believe all of them. It depends on questions asked and who they ask. Also Trump gets 92% negative coverage from MSM. It’s inevitable people believe some of the negative, if that is all they soak in, and that does bring hos numbers down a bit. I will add that if you think Selzer is the only one who can put out a phony poll, I have a bridge for sale.

I do not like the 51st state talk from Trump about Canada. It was dumb and really served no helpful purpose.
As the mad, butt-hurt Canadians will now harm their economy to make themselves feel better. It will not be great for us either, but harder on them. Such a waste. I have not bought anything from Canada since they Boo'd our anthem.

Canada has heavily subsidized some industries that makes them quite competitive with exports. One of my favorite guitar makers is Canadian. I thought Trump discussing Canada as the 51st state was pretty dumb. It was funny as hell though. Canadians acted against their own self-interests because Trump, which sounds familiar.

Whenever they say something is free, what they really mean is taxpayer funded. Colorado decided to offer free health insurance for non-citizens, and now they are coming after citizens for the bill.

When people say they don’t care about the billions spent on non citizens, know that they don’t care about how it impacts everyone else.

At least they acknowledge that we pay all the ER bills. Put that quote in GOP commercials. We pay for all of the expensive services for non-citizens, and yet, Democrats begged them to come and destroy budgets all around the country.

Are Canadians the buyers of new Trump hats !

They got punked on the 51 State.

Serious question for the Trump fans.

If the GOP had nominated someone else (who was also highly likely to win), do you think you’d need to spend the same amount of time defending that person? And if the answer is “no,” would they be a good thing in your opinion or not?

Yes! Saquon is right.

As AB said, most athletes like/love Trump. He’s a real life gangster having been targeted by the Feds and surviving an assassination attempt in which he got shot in the head. The dude is iconic and the image from Pennsylvania is THE image of the 21st century. People will look at that image in 1000 years accompanied by the badass mugshot. There is no iconic image of Obama. Bush has the bullhorn picture and even I must admit Biden has several classics.

It is just a question of which one is Jeff’s favorite.

1) Falling off the bike with the helmet on his head
2) Tripping going up the big kids stairs on AF1
3) Falling on his face at the academy graduation.

My vote is for the bike.

I don’t need to defend anything. If you have been alive this century, you know Democrats will attack anything with an R. They turned on McCain in 08. Romney was an animal abuser. Bush was illegitimate and Hitler.

The great part about Trump is he attacks them and doesn’t take their bullshit like the noble Bush did and by 2006 he was impotent. Being dignified gave the US 20 years of Democrat rule out of 32.

Having nice losers gave you 25 M illegals and 36T in debt.

You defend him constantly. But I will note that you like how he attacks the Dems. That’s definitely one of the primary reasons he gets support.

I’d be doing the same for any R president. That is why Bush was such a letdown the last 2 years. He checked out and let Pelosi run the country. Signed everything. A real disappointment his last 2-3 years.

The left would vilify anyone with a R with the insanity of a 1000 Karens. They despise RDS and labeled his reasonable bill, "don't say gay". Look no further than Stoney and what he thinks of his governor.

The question is would another R candidate try to fix trade and the US deficit spending? If history is the great dictator of the future, the answer is no. The safe path for any president is to walk around large difficult issues even to the detriment of the US, especially a first term POTUS. Trump thrives in controversy and chaos for better or for worse. He is probably the only one that would have charged that hill. Do I love his strategy there? No, but he had the courage to do it and I believe we will be better off long term for it. Do I believe Trump plays 4D chess? No, but he does appear to follow the advice of those he believes in.

Question for you....If Trump successfully resets international trade over the next 120 days to be more favorable to the US and the markets go back up to where they were and start their eb and flow upward above that, what will you think of him historically for the US. It appears there are a number of companies investing back in the US now and prices are coming down.

I think Bezos is doing me and a bunch of americans a solid. When I see a tariff, I will look at other options for that product. Might as well put a big banner saying, "don't buy this" for a lot of us. Unintended consequences are a real thing 🤷‍♂️
Interesting way of looking at it. I hadn’t thought about it this way. This story may be a nothing burger. I saw sonewhere Trump had a conversation with Bezos and Amazon won’t be showing tariff pricing for now.

The problem with showing how tariffs affect prices is that they may be changing daily. Does Amazon really want to accept the burden of trying to get those figures right every day on a countless number of items they sell?

The March CPI numbers are irrelevant given what happened in April. Also, inflation has not been an issue for almost a year.

Trump has a month to do something. People will notice price increases in June when current stocks are depleted.

Worst first 100 days since Nixon. Let's give him a parade! Oh wait, Trump is giving himself one on his birthday at a cost of a 100 million. Well deserved!

It might take more than 100 days to undo what Biden (more accurately, his handlers) did to our country.

I’ve told people that if the stock market is back humming before the end of 2025, most people will be OK with the short term pain. My investment portfolio is almost back to where it was before the correction.

If we are still seeing massive instability and drops late this year, the GOP will be in trouble at mid terms.

People really expected Trump to fix the border, Russia/Ukraine, and the economy in the first 100 days? Man, imagine if the left had any expectations for their own team.

The economy was in decent shape before Trump took over. The economy was growing and inflation was in check. There was nothing to fix until Trump screwed it up.

Please point to any economic indicators that showed the US economy was in trouble prior to Trump taking office.

In the last few years, how many of the new jobs were public sector? How about private sector?

Local economies were getting hammered because of the costs of taking care of migrants. That cost would have continued to explode under Harris. Trump is saving considerable $ just by cutting off payments to all the sanctuary cities. Of course, I don’t see the media covering this as savings.

The economy was not great under Biden. Look at the cost of housing, rising homelessness.

In 2024, a record 771k experienced homelessness, an 18% increase from 2023. Your party flew hundreds of thousands of people in, had no housing for them, and put them on the streets. That’s the country that Biden left for Trump. A lot of problems exploded under the Biden admin, and now there is a lot of cleanup going on.

RDS is a great governor. Stoneaxe thinks RDS is really bad. Just ran across a video of some music stars who ended their own careers. The Dixie Chicks front woman came up as one for her extremely negative comments about 43 while on foreign soil. The media were anti-Bush. Dangling chads in Florida made him illegitimate as President, etc. Internet forums were alive and well during the 43 Administration. So much stupid stuff was said by the leftist posters. RDS would have been good. The media, as an arm of the Democratic Party., would have murder death killed him on air and in print and we would have Floridians like stoneaxe lying about the Don’t Say Gay Bill that said nothing of the sort, lying about how long Florida schools were shut down for 2 years by RDS, etc.

When you see the Left stirring up enough crap against the SCOTUS thanks to a leaked possible decision end up with a deranged potential assassin being caught in Kavanagh’s neighborhood, that wasn’t a Trump thing. This is what happens when you Schumer says you will “pay a price” specifically mentioning the newest Republican additions to the Supreme Court. Pritzker just said the Dems can’t let the GOP know a moment of peace. Was he targeting 47 admin officials? Yes. Would the left interpret that for just the Cabinet members or any Republican in general. I’ll take anyone who is a Republican for $500, Alex. The Washington machine is geared against Republicans. Democrats own the legacy MSM, education system and the vast majority of government employees of DC vote Dem, but any Republican other than Trump would be treated nicely? Doubtful.

I didn’t vote for Trump in the Primary, but I do like his policies, so I would be considered a “fan”. As for spending the same time defending RDS or some other Republican candidate, frankly what makes Trump special and takes more time to defend compared to others are the diehard anti-Trump supposed Republicans, who post up really baked sh!t on a regular basis.

Back to talking about immigration, again please provide one economic indicator that showed the economy was in trouble. You know what? You can't because there weren't any.
Trump has perpetrated that largest self inflicted wound on the economy in the history of the US. We are already half way to a recession. Please tell me how stagflation will be good for everyone. Wait! Trump is going to create all those manufacturing jobs 5 years from now that nobody wants. Terrific!

WRT Biden, my favorite is the look on his face when he was clearly pooping his pants during a public encounter. Maybe that’s the inner child in me that thinks that moment was hilarious. 🤣

I already provided one. An 18% increase in homelessness is one indicator. That happened in the last year of Biden’s presidency. I thought Democrats cared about a strong economy for all, not just those invested in the market.

Cities being bailed out every few months to support the endless migrants is another indicator. It was unsustainable.

Where have you been, Jeff? Certainly not in any supermarket looking at the cost of food. Just because a 75 inch TV costs less doesn’t mean inflation hasn’t been an issue for a year or more.

Those are not economic indicators. Keep sticking to immigration, its Trump's only win.

Here is a list of major economic indicators. Do you see homelessness? Neither do I.
