Helluva year

You do that. They can join the large number already in this area. Almost all kitchen help, all landscape and lawn service people, maids, roofers, laborers all crop pickers etc... Unlike you, they don't scare or panic me, they are an important, even vital part of my community.

This is almost like a quote from 1858. Do you hear yourself?

Man, you are a lost cause.

Here's the Denver crime statistics for 2025. Tracking the national environment, murders way down from the same point last year (25 to 10). Violent crime down slightly, property crime down a lot (mostly a function of a decrease in auto thefts that reflects national trends).

Move to Colo !

Rifle is so confused about crime locally !

In my neck of the woods here W of WP !

I call them Grandsons, DIL, Sons and Wife !

All my Granddaughters live in Conn or South Carolina !

This is the Trump presidency. Biden had no relevance. FYI, Biden's polling numbers after his first 100 days were much better than Trump's.

Biden didn't do anything for 100 days, except issue a bunch of executive orders that the impact of was unknown. After 4 years of letting the inmates run the asylum, while he dozed, polls were not kind. Worst president in history, even worse than Jimmy Carter.

What is the site that you typically reference?

That showed an increase YoY in the state, very recently.

Fake news going to generate content for the deranged to keep them on this board.

It's OK that you don't want to live in reality, where Trump's absurdity impacts his approvals negatively. But the rest of us don't have to join you.

Trump has tanked much of the goodwill he received for not being Biden. If he has a recession (which will be blamed on his tariffs), look out below.

Real Time Crime Index. You taught me something, didn't know you could do a statewide breakdown.

My read on the CO data: (a) murders declined a bit from the peak in 2022 during the years of 2023 and 2024, but are finally really starting to plummet (we've discussed the national numbers, huge drops consistently starting in 2023 and continuing to the present); (b) violent crime may have peaked in 2022 but not a big drop in the last 3 years and much above 2019 (which is a good "recent year" baseline); and (c) property crimes are actually plummeting down to a number that at least has 2019 in sight.

Overall, the trends are good, but unlike much of the country, the crime spike in Colorado hasn't receded to the degree it has elsewhere. There's no doubt your concerns are founded on the evidence. I do think going forward it will be more positive.

Coming from you, uncoach and Ilisbest, being a lost cause is quite a compliment and relief to me. You definitely know what thought process was in 1858.

This is not good!

Until he buttons up these trade deals, I would anticipate these types of numbers. I hate the delays/strategy and so do the polls.

On the other hand, we will get the deals done and there could be a massive bump in stocks and optimism. The MSM chicken littles will look bad again. There is no election to worry about for awhile and today's polling means almost nothing. So, it is not all bad :)

I just want you and Rilla to know I am beating the summer rush and heading to the Key West on Thursday!

Singer and Songwriter Festival is very fun!

OMG, you believe there will be trade deals? The tariffs he imposed will be removed by Trump due to the great damage done to the economy, the lack of goods, and the high prices. NO ONE except that idiot trade advisor believes the tariffs are a good thing.

The "trade deals" Trump was never prepared to negotiate are going to take months. Some may take a year or two. I will give the benefit of the doubt and agree that some new trade deals were anticipated, but the scope of the tariff program almost certainly didn't anticipate dozens of new deals all coming in quickly.

And all the while, business activity is going to decline due to uncertainty. I think we get Q1 GDP reports this week, analyses range from very minimal growth to genuine contraction of a couple percent. Bad all around.

You’re going at a great time. We all know Florida is going to be jam packed with tourists this Summer. RDS has MFGA.
Actually they are expecting a bad summer tourism wise. They had a bad winter season, number of visitors down.

You obviously didn't get the reference to Jubal Early and the 1872 "Lost Cause" narrative.

The words you used could have been uttered by Jefferson Davis himself. Jefferson Davis of the Confederacy, not Jefferson Davis of the Union Army.

Anyway, the illegals serve a great purpose for you and you are not willing to give them up.

Man Stoned, you are knee deep up the butt of MSNBC. Remember the Russia collusion hoax you still think is true? Cmon buddy.

We will see. Are you on record with Stoned that Trump folds with nothing or just it will take a long time?

Btw, investors are over the initial shock of new tariffs. Stable markets, routine trading days on Wall Street. As I posted a couple of weeks ago, AI logarithms greatly enhance forecast accuracy. Complete game changer.

For those still freaking about tariffs, there is an internal message coming from the Trump economic team to business leaders that high tariffs are not viewed as a long term solution but just one tool to boost the manufacturing sector. Everyone knows it will take years to bring those jobs back.

Forecasters are now shifting. Slow growth the remainder of this year then an uptick in 2026 seems like the most likely scenario. Consumers say they still lack confidence, but their spending habits tell a completely different story. Retail sales are up, job numbers are good, and wages are outpacing inflation.

Whenever the market has something major upset it, you have to wait for it to find its bottom. I have to believe most people feel that has happened. We should see regular eb and flow unless they can announce some good trade news.

It is always the way. Once the Panicans have sold and the Wall Street pros have made their "easy money" the market settles and awaits the next impetus.

Similarly, Trump created chaos for these countries to get their attention. They now know he is serious, and the status quo is changing. It would seem India, South Korea, and Japan will be at the forefront. IMO, this is in large part due to the shift away from China which is in all of their strategic interests.

They serve a great purpose for the country as a whole. They are doing the work that most others are unwilling, or physically unable, to do. I caught the "lost cause" reference but have no idea what it has to do with illegal aliens.

You totally understand. Some things never change with Democrats - never willing to give up their "workers"

Left wing imbecile, with a negative track record, starting to run for president. Don't you have to have some positive accomplishments to point to?
I saw this on X. An Illinoisan had posted about this. Pritzker is a loser. Nothing says “presidential” like a call that Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. Idiotic. Trying to stir up crap in his own state. And he has done nothing for the state other than make it even less business-friendly. The debt is as big as his belly

Your postings on this topic are getting more and more asinine. They are everyone' s workers.🤡
They aren’t my workers. I have an I-9 to keep in employee files. They have to prove they have a right to work in the US with proper documentation. No proper I-9, I can get dinged big time on inspections. BTW, some years ago chicken plants were raided in the South. All illegals. Guess who filled the spots almost immediately? Black people who lived close to the plant. All your “everyone’s workers” do is take jobs away from Americans who need the work to get ahead. More illegals keep more American workers poor/on the government dole, but that’s exactly what your systemically racist Democratic Party desires.

Also, consumer prices fell. CPI dropped 0.1% in March — the coolest monthly reading since July 2022.

As usual you have no idea what you are talking about. They may not work for your company, but they are performing most of the work around you. Who is working in the back in the restaurants you visit. Who is doing all of the landscaping and grounds maintenance that you pass. Cleans your hotel rooms, work in the laundry? Who is picking the crops you eat? Who wants those jobs? Not Americans that is why the immigrants are doing them. Been that way for 150 years in America. Alit if the work down here Americans can’t perform due to the heat/ sun.. Finally the civil rights act and voting rights act turned the South solid Republican. So save the Democrats are racist BS. Everyone knows better.

The irony in believing the only things Latino immigrants are good for are remedial tasks like cleaning toilets for lower than minimum wage. Extremely poor argument for failing to enforce U.S. immigration laws.

Besides, even if you belief this there are migrant worker laws designed to protect workers from exploitation and hold their employers accountable for fair labor standards. Pro union Democrats fought pretty hard for those laws. Now gated community politicians of both parties want to ignore them (“I’m not giving up my pool boy”). There is no legitimate excuse for supporting lawlessness at the border.

One of the hallmarks of President Obama’s policy on illegal immigration was going after employers who hired and exploited them. We should revisit that.

1) You can use guest workers if they truly are needed. That way the workers are above board and getting paid correctly and treated fairly.
2) Stupid John McCain years ago said stuff similar to you. He said we need these people, what American will pick lettuce for $50 / hour? That got my attention. I sure as hell would pick lettuce for $50 / hour as would plenty of people.

If the US needs workers, make legal arrangements. But, your party just flew in 15,000,000 people and job growth for real Americans was down in the Biden years. All "new" jobs went to foreigners / foreign-born.
