Guys aren’t jumping just because they found better situations. Obviously, they are concerned about their future. They want to win. Does Lovie help them enough? How hard does he try at recruiting? There are kids they wanted, but a non-on the field staffer may have veto power.
It took a lot to chase Thad Ward off. He was all-in. Butkus is volatile anyway, so he just said “screw this”. The S&C guy got a better job. But why did he put himself on the market?
The hiring of Miles may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for some. Baffling why Whitman would allow it.
