- Julian Hylton is playing RB through the spring. Illini are looking for depth. Josh Ferguson has been great, but they're still searching for a second RB. Total committee right now, which is to be expected since Enyenihi and Brown are so new. Foster is just limited.
- O-line has struggled but the coaches really like what they've seen out of DiLauro and Schmidt at the tackle spots. They're high on Allegretti. He just needs reps. I'll have a column on the O-line soon.
- Had a long talk with Bellamy and will have a Q&A up shortly. He said Hardee has had the best spring but Dudek, Allison and Malik Turner are easily the top-3 and all are "students of the game" and have shown a big desire to get better.
- Mason Monheim said DL coach Mike Phair has been the biggest addition to the team and has had a huge impact on the front already. Phair is really tough on his players but not over-the-top. Word is that the players have responded and gotten better.
