i am curious how you are on if you think they are doing the job they were ordered to do. bear with me on my ramblings. when guenther was brought in was to clean up problems in the athletic department and upgrade the facilities. looking at that mission he did well . there were no problems with the ncaa and he got some building projects done. for that he would get an A. the second part on guenther was did he do well on coaches there he gets a B minus. now let's look at josh whitman and what he's supposed to do. he comes in with a train wreck of an athletic director in mike thomas who seemed to alienate everybody. facilities need an upgrade again, fan base needs to be energized and new coaches. everybody is glad to see a former illini hired for the job. josh seems to be an excellent fundraiser a thankless job. first thing he does is get most of the fan base giddy because it gets illinois in the spotlight. he hires new coaches in and football and basketball .all three coaches come into less than great situations but have good to great resumes in coach fahey. i liken the football to the bears and ryan pace. they are bad until he makes moves that are questioned like trubisky and the draft, free agency and trading first round picks for a superstar. results seem to favor pace now. josh seems to be a very intelligent person and feel he deserves the support of the illini nation . i've been an illinois fan over 60 years and say GO ILLINI. also i am not related to josh or his press agent. i'm out of breath now thank to all.
