The BBC spends 1.75 billion pounds on its television channels. The BBC is one of the most respected media outlets in the world and you think they would damage their reputation for 3 million dollars. Absolutely laughable.
You honestly didn't think that budget cuts would impact government services? 😳

Are you the only one here who's lamenting a US cut to a UK quasi-government service?

What are you talking about? I posted a BBC article and a poster said it was propaganda. I replied that the accusation was ridiculous. The thread had nothing to do with USAID donation itself. The point of contention was the legitimacy of the BBC article.
Apparently for some, any article reporting about the negative impact of the spending cuts must not be legit.

Now you're just making stuff up.

I am not the one casting aspersions on the legitimacy of an article from a highly respected source simply because I don't like the content.

Many MAGAs believe there is so much waste and fraud in the federal budget that you can make large spending cuts and not impact government services. It is pure fantasy.

There’s now significant evidence that Americans who oppose Trump were among those advising Zelenskyy to call for a White House meeting where he would publicly confront President Trump, deride him for negotiating with Russia, and reject the mineral rights deal. Third time he’s rejected the deal because he wants the U.S. to commit to ground troops to enforce a cease fire. The State Depattment was led to believe he would sign a stand alone economic deal this time. They were lied to.

btw, American and European politicians who are pushing for the status quo in Ukraine are essentially advocating a scorched Earth policy in which the Ukrainians continue to fight an un-winnable war until they’re all dead.

It’s notable that if there’s a cease fire the Ukrainian government will be pressured to lift martial law and hold elections.

View from Missouri's senator:

It’s true. I feel very sorry for the Ukrainian people. The Obama/Deep State cronies likely violated the Hatch Act and they don’t care. They don’t care about the Ukrainians or what is happening to them. All they care is to keep Putin bogged down, even if in the process Ukraine is destroyed. It’s shameful what they did and are advocating.

Yes. This is the Democratic Party and the Far Left that has controlled them and has tried to “fundamentally change America”.

One of my good friends, an admitted progressive, has told me that he hates how the left shuts down any discussion.

He’s one of the few that I know that is willing to engage.

Of course they are… they’re a bunch of backwards thinking, self righteous lib a-holes.

Norway…. lol. Like they could defend themselves in a military conflict. Without the US in NATO, those countries would be sitting ducks.

What they think is that Trump populism is temporary. They are wrong.

NATO needs to be revisited, especially with where Western Europe looks like it's headed within a generation.
